Raisins, chocolate, roasted malts and a leafy, woody note to the aroma. Opaque black with large-bubbled, shy, brown head that recedes to cover. Sour raisins, wood and wet earth in the flavour with a fair roastiness in the finish. Medium-full body with low carbonation is somewhat sticky. It seems that this degraded while on tap, because the beer I sampled seems nothing like what is described by other raters. On tap at the brewpub.

tapped a dense black...dark brown foamy cap...smell of vanilla is predomonent, sweet chocolate and alcohol..almost smelled like a dessert liquer. Smooth oily body, vanilla is present in flavor as it mingles with cocoa, spice and a hint of smoke...finish is sweet. No sharp edges on this stout ( the aging I suppose has mellowed it). Very tastey rendition of a carribean stout and a nice treat onece in a while but I could not drink it all the time...too sweet.

Pours a pitch black color with a thin light brown head. Strong aroma and flavor of vanilla, kahlua, toffee and alcohol. Medium body, dry and liquorous texture, soft carbonation. It’s good but much too sweet.

on tap at the brewpub, a solid black body with a thick creamy head. a vanilla aroma, with a little bit of bourbon aroma. taste definitely revealed the aging involved as the bourbon sweetness was present throughout. major components of the taste were vanilla with light amounts of roasted chocolate. the tail of this was actually cloyingly sweet, almost to a fault, but that wasnt enough to detract from the rich, full, creamy, smooth body. the body was especially nice as this was my 7th and last beer in the sampler, and to this point most of the beers at the pub were a little bit too watery imo.
