4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 robinvboyer (2198) - Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 16, 2011
On tap at the brewpub. Hazy dark brown pour, small off white head. Aroma of burnt sugar, sweet malt, cereal, toffee, vanilla and bourbon, and some booze. Intense warmng from the alcohol, thick chewy mouthfeel, more toffee, and even a slight coffee in the lingering chewy finish. The bourbon is getting more subtle near the end, and some more vanilla shines through. Nice balance between the barrel and the malts.
3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20 Boutip (3467) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 24, 2011
Draft: Poured a dark deep brown color ale with a light off-white head with OK retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of bourbon and deep caramelized sugar is quite intense. Taste is dominated by loads of bourbon notes with some alcohol coming through with notes of caramelized malt and toffee. Body is quite full with well rounded creamy notes from the barrel-aging. Interesting and quite intense though maybe a bit too much bourbon coming out as well as some alcohol notes.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 rodenbach99 (1935) - Longueuil, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 18, 2011
J’aime 8/10
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Lubiere (7003) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 9, 2011
A reddish dark copper ale with a thin creamy dark brown head. In aroma, good woody bourbon barrel, with molasses, grapes, woodchips, very nice. In mouth, a smoothed version of the triple bock with less cloying sweetness, bourbon wood notes, vanilla beans, resinous notes, warm alcohol in finale. On tap at brewpub, Feb. 4 2011.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Quevillon (2014) - Sainte-Thérèse, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 8, 2011
Drank on tap (10 oz) at the brewpub, on February 1st, 2011. Darker brown then the original Triple Bock, medium head. Aroma of malt soaked in bourbon, citrus notes. Very malty bourbon taste, slightly fruity, dried bitterness. Bourbon changes its character, making it less sweet and more alcoholic to the taste, but never the less pleasant!

Palette: Le corps est moyen avec une texture légèrement onctueuse. Faible effervescence en bouche. Arrière goût légèrement houblonné. (Rating #3486)

Sample at Winter Warmer Montreal 2010
Appearance : Deep brown with a small head.
Aroma : Great bourbon with fruits and sugars. Light vanilla. Nice caramel.
Taste : Malty and fruity with bourbon notes. Finish is a bit warm with a bit of alcohol. Malty and dry. Palate is quite flat but it’s enjoyable.
Overall : Great nose, nice finish. Nice barrel presence. Great malt. Maybe the alcohol could be a bit better hidden. Great winter beer !
