Hazy amber hue, with a small beige head, yeasty ripe apples nose, with a toffeeish accent, caramelized malt, hint of cinnamon spiciness in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty sweet caramelized ripe apples character, with some cinnamon, nutmeg spiciness, toasted and caramel malts , dry sultana raisins, fruitiness, brown sugar, with an alcoholic note from his 9.5%, leading towards a faint floral hops, and a sweet malty alcoholic warmth finish.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Lubiere (8248) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 10, 2006
Murky golden ale with a thin white head. Aroma of sweet candy, coriander and yeast. In mouth, a sweet candy plum liquid with tingly coriander and orange peels, alcohol warmth. Rich bodied, with spices lingering in post-taste. An ugly beauty! Enhjoyed with Nekronos. On tap at CB, Sept. 2 2006.

UPDATED: APR 3, 2009 Listed as "triple" at the brewpub, with the same 9.5% abv listed on here. 14 oz sample. Musty, caramelly, slight banana-like aroma. Some sourness present. Not overly quaffable or enjoyable in terms of aroma. Mildly, minutely hazy amber-orangey color with a small yellowish head. Definitely could be darker-bodied, hazier, with a larger head. Sweet, sugary, carmel malty, sugary flavors to start. Sticky. Turns spicy in the middle with some ethanol presence. Finishes fruity and a bit sweet. A serviceable North American version of a tripel...RE-RATE...Aroma is sweet, fruity, and estery with plenty of pineapple notes present. Almost reminiscent of the Unibroue yeast. Very aromatic and quite pleasant. Mostly opaque amber body with a strong off yellow head and scant lacing. Sweet, spicy, peppery start. Becomes more yeast like and estery in the middle with plenty of dusty, pineapple flavors. Smooth, and a bit of a spicy finish. Tasty. Above rating reflects current rating.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 TaktikMTL (4809) - Montréal-Nord, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 5, 2006
(Rating #611)
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Glouglouburp (5572) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 8, 2006
UPDATED: MAY 9, 2006 Simply called “Triple” at the pub. Hope I’m rating the right beer. Partly cloudy yellow-golden body topped by a medium white head. Pleasant yeast character. A bit fruity. No spices noticeable (a bit of a letdown for me). Alcohol presence is just what it should be for an 9%. A solid but slightly below average Tripel that doesn’t make a lasting impression, if I hadn’t written my notes immediately after drinking it I would have forgotten I ever had it.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Dutch70 (48) - USA - MAY 7, 2006
Nice triple, not really a typical triple but I liked it.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 hopscotch (8217) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - MAY 7, 2006
Draft... Hazy, light yellow ale with a mid-sized, creamy, white head. The aroma is very fruity with notes of fuzzy and yellow fruits. Medium spice. Very fruity, sweet flavor with mild hop and alcoholic bitterness. Full-bodied and ultra-creamy with soft carbonation. Not my thing, but very nice for the style.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Rastacouere (6045) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - APR 21, 2005
Flashy hazy golden colored body with full small bubbled carbonation feeds a strong, creamy white head, lasting. Orange/curacao focused nose with plenty of citrus undertones. Honest yeastiness complements the generous dose of grassy hops. Very fine bubbles contribute to a warming feeling while the alcohol is almost unnoticeable. Dry palate, aptly constituted. Not the most complex, but highly enjoyable. Good one!
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 MartinT (6934) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - APR 18, 2005
The Lure: A superb crown of foam leaves behind a silky lacing as it slowly recedes. Malty gold and juicy oranges bounce off lactic suggestions. Served WAY too cold.
The Festivities: A metabolism of creamy grain and orangey, peachy fruit is hurt by a few drops of water. Others might say though that this helps it gain drinkability, and I concur. Alcohol is very well hidden, and thus allows the green hoppiness to rise in the end. Feels and looks great, but I would prefer a slightly more flavorful malt profile to call this a world-class example. Still, one of their best efforts.
Transcendence: Can a diamond be overpolished?
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 tiggmtl (4516) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 12, 2005
Mango, pineapple, tropical fruit in the sweet and yeasty aroma. Hazy golden-tan colured body is topped with a generous, fine-bubbled, white head that recedes slowly to lasting coverwith very nice lacing. Sweet and fruity flavour has plenty of Belgian yeast character and is quite dry and well-attenuated. Medium body with moderate carbonation that dances in the mouth. Very dry and refreshing despite the high ABV. This year’s version clocks in at 9.5%. On tap at the brewpub.
