3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 bedainedebiere (493) - Terrebonne, - SEP 14, 2009
Brown color, darker than any ESB I had. Subtle maple aroma and maple taffy dominant notes. Pretty sweet maltiness but the herbal hoppiness makes this beer balanced and enjoyable. I’ll buy some more...

473ml can. This was my 2nd beer from Le Corsaire (in the same session) and it will definitely be my last. It was surely infected as it tasted way too sour (and it isn’t supposed to as per the previous reviews). This is unacceptable, they should’ve recalled this batch! Faint caramel and cereal aromas were perceptible but overpowered by some odor...I can’t really identify it but it’s as if it smelled what it tasted...badly sour. I guess if you still want to try it out, you better try the tap version as people who tried it somehow seem to give a better rating...

O: Caramel beer with a potential infection of pedioccocus due to acidity and apple flavor. Back ground is promissing although.

Can 473 ml
Aroma: creamy caramel, sugars with hints of hop 6-
Appearance: hazed amber brown, large mid dense top. Sparse lace. 3+
Body/Flavour/Palate: Thin bodied, tart with mineral – sugary follow up. Felt quiet empty especially on top end of palate. Slight off flavours of mild funk did not help this brew.

On tap at the brewpub. Dark amber-brown pour. Aroma is quite caramel forward, toffee, light roastiness and a little nutty. Taste is sweet, nice roasty character, light hoppiness. Smooth carbonation, nice lasting bitter finish. It is my kind of session ale.
