473ml can. This is the first beer I had from Le Corsaire and the best one. Fortunately, because if I had started by the Bristol (see my review), I would’ve stopped right there...

Aroma has roasted tones, and a bit of sweet caramel with cereal. Color is dark brown, carbonation relatively low with a tad more than minimal head. Slightly sweet taste with a medium bitter finish. An OK beer, nothing special to write about. If given the choice, I would choose this over a can of the Labatt-brewed Guiness we have here in Québec.

[3873-20110808] Tap. Chocolate syrup cream aroma has a hint of roast to it. Slightly hazy, dark mahogany body with a long-lasting foamy light tan head. Roasted plum chocolate syrup flavour. Medium-full body. Good balance, would be a good finish to a meal. (7/3/7+/4/14) 3.5+

Aroma: creamy , roast malts with slight lactic stout like quality. Fruity hop end. 6+
Appearance: dark brown with dark beige creamy head. Sparse lace.3+
Body , Flavour , Palate and Final Notes: medium light boded. Deep dry black almost metallic with dark chocolate in character. Hint of ash with touch of smoke to it. Low carbonation. Well rounded dry blac sided finish. Best offering of Corsaire I had so far.

2011-08-08. Ruby brown, good sized beige head. Flavour is malty, dry roasty notes, sweet caramel accents, a sweet roast profile lingers in the finish. 6+ Sweet malty aroma, toasty roasty accents. 6+ Very smooth average to light bodied palate suits the beer. I don’t love it but it is a very nice mild, and perhaps their most interesting beer today. On tap at the brewpub, Levis

On tap at the brewpub. Ironic is the fact that the heaviest, tastiest beer I had all night was served to me as a "mild" ale. Anyhow, at 5%, I don’t think it qualifies so I’ll just keep rating it as a regular brown ale. Dark brown beer with off white head. Aroma of scotch (peat, smoke), lots of rich chocolate, roast malt. Palate is smooth, very smooth, well carbonated with a slight bitter finish. Good stuff, quite tasty.

Can - 473ml. Pours a dark browh body with low carbonation and an average beige frothy head. Decent malty/hoppy aroma with grainy and some chocolate hints. Taste is well balanced and carries roasted cereals notes. Ends with a good bitter/woody finish. Enjoyable.

Can. Pours brown, probably hazy (but hard to tell...). Average-sized tan head. Pretty creamy as well. Raises question as to whether it’s a Mild Ale. (3+) Aroma is toffee, vanilla, small fruits fruits. No traces of hops or malt, really, so it achieves balances on this aspect. Bodes not so bad, but.... (6+) Taste is roast (close to coffee territory, but not yet), small fruits. Hint... really small hint of smoke. I wonder if I’m drinking a Schwarz at this point, but it’s not bad (7-) Low carbonation. Oily. No bitterness whatosever. (3) It’s a pretty decent beer. It certainly FAILS as a Mild Ale - it feels like a cross between a generic Brown Beer and a Schwartzbier - though...

pours dark brown, red tint, with a small but decent beige head. roasted notes, light acidic fruity notes. light body - some smoothness, light hopping, but still a coffee bitterness. nice.
