Drank at there pub September 27, 2009, on tap (20 oz). Dark brown, thin beige head. Aroma of chocolate coffee. Taste of light espresso, slightly watery, bitter sweet chocolate finish. it’s shame it’s watery!

(Rating #2609)

Sample tray. Black. Nitro head. Black coffee with a hint of chocolate. Light body. Creamy. Huge coffee flavour. Guinness without the sourness?

My Bottom Line:
This generous coffee-infused Stout knew how to please with its roasty espresso notes, cozy mouthfeel and well-levelled bitterness. A very drinkable and flavorful pint of Stout, this was.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A creamy sheet of foam decorates the nitroed blackness.
-This recipe must be different from what Lubière had (I presume) since there was an addition of espresso coffee and red cocoa in mine.
-Although coffee is present throughout in the flavor profile, it knows its boundaries and never overwhelms.
-Chocolate is shy but present.
-The nitrogenated mouthfeel is comfy because there is substance within.

On tap at the brewpub.

A deep dark stout with a thin moka head. A rather buttery aroma with waxy notes, caramel. In mouth, sweet chocolate and coconuts, light burned toasts. Coconut is off-putting, vegetable and cloying. Tasted at brewpub, August 2 2008.
