Appearance : Deep black, small head.
Aroma : Appealing roasted malts. Some hops.
Taste : Hopy with roasted malt. Some liquorice.
Overall : A bit watery but overall quite good. Very drinkable. Good everyday stout.

On tap at brewpub. Pitch black with a thick beige head. Good retention. Taste is roasty, smokey, somewhat salty. Body is medium to light, mouthfeel is very creamy. One of my first favorite stouts.

The look: Black body topped by a medium dark beige head
In long: Nose has a moderate amount of roast with notes of coffee beans. Taste is slightly chocolaty, some black coffee, coconut, fudge and lactic notes reminiscent of whipped cream. Relatively low sweetness sensation. Creamy mouthfeel. Easy to drink beer that is not very tasty. Maybe a bit too doughy to be really sessionnable. Another ordinary beer from Le Corsaire. If you’re a big fan of Le Corsaire, then there’s only one explanation, you’re an electric device with rotating blades to move air around in the place. And if so, how are you read this rating?!?!?

[3876-20110808] Tap. Smoky barnyard chocolate aroma. Black body with a quick bubbly tan head. Roasted chocolate malt flavour has a lingering roasted quality. Medium-full body. Interesting to sample. (7/3/6/3/13) 3.2

sampled @ pub. A: roastiness, chocolate, some light caramel. App: pitch black with beige head. T/P : body is medium-full with short sugary finish. It’s creamy. O: This beer was the highlight of that tasting session.

2011-08-08. Very dark brown body is a bit murky, small beige head. 3+ Flavour is a bit watery at times, sweet dark malt middle with very dry roasty overtones. 6+ Mild aroma, dry roast and not much else. 6+ Average to light bodied palate. Bit thin for a stout, and the roast is a bit one dimensional. Not unpleasant but could be better. On tap at the brewpub, Levis

On tap at the brewpub. Beautiful black with a creamy nitro head. Aroma is soft and subtle, roasted grain, coffee, chocolate is also present. Taste is mainly nice subtle dark chocolate flavors, a bit of burnt toast bitterness too, coffee. The palate is smooth and silky, a tad watery though. A good session stout, just a bit dim to my taste.

on tap at brewpub. very dark brown, almost pitch black, tall creamy dark beige head. nice dark roasted malts, herbal hops, woodsy, smooth but still too watery. meh.

Black color with nice head that stay a bit, coffee aroma on nose. Pretty light-bodied for a stout, rich coffee taste in mouth. A good choice to finish the night. (Rating # 11)
