2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Fred82 (1824) - Montreal, - DEC 22, 2011
Sample at the falsely called "Beer Festival" Festibière de Laval 2011.
Appearance : Hazy yellow with small head.
Aroma : Big maple syrup. A bit buttery, quite sugary.
Taste : Cheap Aunt Jemima™ syrup. Buttery caramel. buttery finish with light alcohol.
Overall : Another deception from Grimoire. I normally don’t buy their stuff and now I know why.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 GarnotingPete (357) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 9, 2012

Mondial de la Bière 2011, Strasbourg - clear amber-red beer with a modest head retention; dry aroma of maple syrup; a solid yet subtle carbonation, some sweetness; aftertaste of red fruits and maple syrup
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Viper666 (1212) - Saint-Hubert, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 19, 2011
Bouteille 660ml.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 sseb69 (896) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 16, 2011
Bouteille 660 ml. 8%.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 pushkinwow (871) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 13, 2011
Bomber from Broue Ha Ha. Dark hazy amber with tan head. Maple syrup, grains and not much else. Well carbonated, sweet, light, maple syrup throughout, a little artificial but not overpowering. One dimensional but not necessarily worth trying unless its right in front of you.
1.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20 MXD (295) - Gatineau/St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 30, 2011
UPDATED: JUN 26, 2011 At the Festi-Bière de Gatineau. Got a 9oz serving, courtesy of the guy at the counter who had problems with numbers. Pour is brownish and clear brown with a sizeable head. Aroma is mainly about maple syrup, but there’s some floral hops but as well. Excellent. Taste is, well, basically, liquify maple butter, put too much of it in an amber ale, add some priming sugar, and you have this. TERRIBLE. No balance whatsoever, and what seemed like a hoppy (for once!) maple beer is lost in what is actually a pathetic excuse for putting maple products (there’s too much maple here I’m afraid to say they put syrup and not resin or butter) in beer. Finish is sweet in a terrible way. Stay as far as possible from this one. Or better : put it on your pancakes, as it has more maple taste than most of the non-maple syrup stuff on the maket. Or just put some yeast in a maple syrup can and let it do its job for a few days, then drink the $!)*%!*%!" can. Gimme a Molson Ex above this.
2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 tielord (45) - Quebec, CANADA - MAY 29, 2011
Bottle 660 ml, easter 2011.
Dark amber color with nice tan head, Nose : sweety malt and maple syrup aroma. Too much sweet tastes in mouth, pretty overwhelming that hide all the rest. A beer with a good start and a bad finish.
Rating # 20
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Boutip (3467) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 25, 2011
Bottle: Poured a clear bright amber color ale with a big foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of sweet malt with loads of maple syrup notes though hard to tell if they are real or some kind of fake syrup. Taste is also dominated by lots of sweet malt notes with some maple notes. Body is about average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Not something I would necessarily seek again but not totally aweful.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Eructoblaster (2122) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 23, 2011
Bottle - 660ml. Hazy copper body with a thin off-white foamy head. Decent malty/hoppy aroma with strong maple hints that hide the alcohol pretty well. Taste is slightly misbalanced and oversweetened. It ends with a short bittersweet finish. Honest effort.
