Rastacouere (5418), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Jun 6, 2005 Super light brown head cover the black body. Tartish roasted cereals nose, light toasted grains. Palate is rather tart which doesn’t marry the roastiness too successfully. Bready malts, very little hoppiness. Thin-medium bodied, well fitting moderate amount of carbonation. MartinT (4458), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Dec 4, 2004 Updated: Jun 2, 2005Completely new rating, eliminating the first attempts of this beer as these guys have improved immensely.
The Lure:
Rich roastiness around citrusy American hops. Not overwhelming but not shy either.

The Festivities:
Lightly acidic fruitiness undermines the adamant roasty bitterness and dark chocolate. A full mouthfeel coats the palate and promotes the roastiness and a dry yeastiness.
Transcendence:
Tasting the evolution of a newly-opened brewpub is really thrilling. muzzlehatch (4429), Burlington, USA Dec 7, 2004 Sampled at the brewpub with MartinT, tiggmtl, Taktik MTL in the company of the brewers...dark, thin-looking, little head...nose grapy grapy grapy with a touch of chocolate bitterenss and did I mention grapy?...flavor a bit less vinous with a bit of caky chocolate providing body...weak sour port in the finish. tiggmtl (4178), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Dec 6, 2004 Very mild aroma is sweet and lightly fruity. Opaque black colour with thin tan head that recedes to ring. Sweet, vinous flavour with light background roastiness. Somewhat husky flavour. Chalky mouthfeel. Fair carbonation. I’d suspect over-sparging and high fermentation temperatures or perhaps problems with the yeast. On tap at the brewpub with MartinT, muzzlehatch and Taktik MTL. Lubiere (3410), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Jan 15, 2005 Black stout with a little moka head. Coffee and light vanilla in aroma. Light coffee and bitter chocolate in mouth, lactic acid notes, medium bodied.
