D’un rouge tirant sur le brun, la Colborne est une rousse qui présente des notes fruitées et boisées au nez, avec une saveur assez puissante de caramel et de sucres en bouche. Fonceuse et légèrement amère, elle est très agréable pour un style souvent fade et / ou timide. Une des bonnes représentantes québécoises, sans être une incontournable de cette brasserie gaspésienne.

500ml bottle. Hazy light mahogany with a nice pale brown head. Nutty caramel aroma, roasted malts, some grain. Moderate carbonation and body, at first a bit metallic but once it warms up that disappears, begins with a pleasant bitterness but then grows into a slightly astringent taste, somewhat dry.

D’une belle couleur rousse et limpide et coiffée d’une mousse volumineuse qui se cramponne aux parois, tout en lui laissant une belle écume en se résorbant. Des odeurs limitées de malt et de caramel. Un goût acidulé et sucré tout d’abord. Ensuite, une amertume digne qui se prolonge jusqu’en arrière-goût. Des saveurs d’herbes et d’épices tentent, tant bien que mal, à s’immiscer au travers tout ça. A little dark for an amber and an off white head. Light caramel malt roma with some nuts and grassy hops. Soft carbonation, medium mouthfeel, and a medium bitter finish.

Pours a clear amber color with a medium tan head. Pleasant aroma of caramel with floral hops. Very good flavor of caramel and floral hops, there’s also a toasted malt presence and medium bitterness in the end. The body is medium with a creamy texture and medium carbonation. This is a solid amber ale.

Le liquide a une robe ambrée. La mousse est plus ou moins généreuse. Une dentelle est observée. Au nez, le malt est bien caramélisé. Des parfums fruités semblent vouloir s’échapper. Les houblons sont présents : des herbes se font sentir. Les saveurs vont dans le même sens, le caramel est goûteux et même un peu gras. Les houblons confirment leur présence. En bouche, le liquide a un corps moyen avec un pétillement modéré et une texture assez douce. La finale se fait sur des notes amères de houblons peu intenses et plus ou moins longues.

drank at quebec city beerfest. clear copper, orange-ish tint, nice off-white head, good retention and lacing. aroma of light caramel malts, some floral-piney notes. taste is malty with a citrus finish. average carbonation, light to medium body.

Nice rusty red body with a sweet beige foamy head. Caramalised aroma dominates. You can smells roasted malt hints. At taste not much to say except a sweet bitterness at end. Really not one of my favorite.

Bottle, purchased fresh from the brewery. Pours a bright ruby-kissed copper with an average cream colored cap. Sweet toasty caramel aroma with an interesting Graham cracker note. Toasty caramel flavor, quite biscuity, nicely malty with nutty undertones. Simple but tasty.
