COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
La CORTE-REAL, de couleur blond doré, possède un arôme floral. Toute en équilibre, cette bière bien assise sur une base de malt, laisse ressortir, tout au long de la dégustation, les différents goûts que le houblon Centennial peut apporter à une bière.

500 ml bottle from Broue Ha Ha, served cold in a tulip glass.

App.: Clear amber with a large off-white foam. Aroma: Slightly nutty and earthy, a touch infected?, seem British rather than American, salt and vinegar chips, some caramalt, burnt sugar and C-hops once the yuck clears out, weird start that worked out fairly well in the end. Palate: Medium body, moderate effervescence. Flav.: Better than the nose and more to style, some decent grapefruit and marmalade, almost enough malt backbone for support, quite dry for an APA, without the characteristic caramalt, still decent; dry with pretty good bitterness and a dusty, malty, C-hop finish.

The nose had me worried, but the flavour was reassuring.

Bottle. Moderate malt and hop aromas of cereal and caramel, flowers and spruce, faint soap for the yeast, with hints of dried fruit. Head is small, frothy, off-white with good lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is medium amber/tan. Flavor starts moderately acidic and finishes lightly to moderately acidic and bitter. Palate is on the lighter side of medium, watery with a fizzy carbonation. Well balanced aromas and fantastic flavors in this American Pale Ale.

Amber colour. Aroma of floral hops and caramel. Taste is a bit of grapefruit, and a bit of burnt sugar. Very sessionable! Thanks Pat!

from Mondial de la Bière 2011, Strasbourg - hazy dark amber-blond under a persistent beige foam; nice lace; a robust hoppy aroma with notes of flowers and honey; quite full-bodied and rounded palate; moderate carbonation; very tasty and fairly bitter; long flowery and dry almondy finish

Bonne Pale Ale, amertume dominante mais caramel bien présent. Perdu mess notes... Je vais devoir la ré-essayer. Hon!

Bottle @mondial de la bière. A clear amber beer, nose is on caramel and hops. Aroma is on a classic pale ale, well hopy with resin notes at the finish, good body, malty, good stuff, nice hops bouquet, enjoyable.

I would like to try the bottled version of this because I had this on tap at St-Bock and my impressions certainly differ from the most positive reviews here. Did not taste much like a pale ale to me but rather the taste of unmalted barley. No hop bitterness and tastes like cereal. Was the poorest beer I drank in an evening at St-Bock.

500 mL bottle. Clear copper with a small beige head. Mild aroma of floral hops. Flavour is better than the aroma, and more complex. More pineapple and citrus than the nose, and there is almost an Alt note to the malt profile. Quite interesting. Solid body.

On tap @ the brewpub, enjoyed as part of their "compass style" degustation tasting tray. Clear medium gold, ropy lacy white crown. Intense tropical fruit, especially ripe papaya. Lively fruity palate, some floral perfume, moderately bitter finish.

Belle couleur ambrée limpide. Elle dégage une bonne odeur florale, d’agrumes et de houblon. Goût prononcé de houblon, modérément sucré et très agréable en bouche, qui laisse la place à une belle amertume équilibrée. Très bonne.
