500 ml bottle bought at at Les Marchants de la Bière in Sainte-Thérèse (Quebec) on July 9, 2014. Black, medium head. Malted barley aroma with hints of chocolate and berry. Taste of burnt barley, spicy herbs, very dry, good bitterness. A good homage to an 100 year old tragedy!

Pours a seemingly clear cola letting through some fiery highlights and topped by a finger or so of fizzy tanned head, showing average retention and lacing properties. The nose is dark fruits, rausins, dattes, butter and brown sugar. The taste is toasted, nutty malts, milk chocolate, instant coffee and earthy hops. Aqueous as any porter would be and drops dry on the palate with no lingering flavours. As for respecting the style, this brew scores high. Cheers!

500 ml bottle from flaveurs d’ici A: chocolate, light roastiness/smoky app: dark brown with reddish highlights good lacing. T/p: med body with initial light acidity and finishes on a moderate long bitter finish. O: pretty good. I got to be honest wasn’t expecting something that good. The light acidity with interesting malt bill makes for a good brew. Well done.

On tap at station Ho.St. Pours a ruby and crimson tinged brown with a large dense tan head. Roast and sweet cocoa on the nose. Medium bodied, chocolate, caramel and a bit of yeast. Soft cocoa, slight astringent notes. Slow caramel and roast.

Pours a dark brown color with a medium tan head. Roasted malt on the nose with some sugared coffee (Mocha). Dark Cherries can also be detected with some molasses and some smoke. Medium body. OIly and Sweet on the palate and the sweetness lingers on. You get the smokyness in the ending also. Quite interesting.

500 ml bottle. Pours a brownish-orangeish black with a resilient, thick beige head. Aroma is chocolate chip, roasty, mocha. Flavor is chocolate, milk coffee, biscuit, sweet caramel. Finish is some roasted bitterness. Lingering lactic. Medium body, soft mouthfeel, average carbonation.
