In short: A 3.9% surprisingly solid grassy harvest IPA
How: Tap at Brouhaha, Montreal
The look: Almost clear amber body topped by a small beige head leaving lots of lacings on the glass
In long: Nose is medium hoppy and pretty much what I’ve come to expect from a harvest ale, leafy and grass juice. Taste is surprising considering this is a below 4% beer. Quite a bit of toasted cereals, crunchy caramel and more residual sugars then I would have expected from a beer of this gravity. But it is skilfully balanced by plenty of leafy hops and grass juice. Bitterness of medium intensity with some sweetness in the after-taste. Not sure why it is currently listed as a Bitter here on ratebeer, to me this is an IPA but with a low abv. And I don’t think I say it often enough, I am so thankful that millions of years of evolution has given us a human body that can ingest beer and turn it into pee, and not the other way around.
