Chocolaty, and as it warmed roast coffee, licorice and chocolate, that leaves a bitter finish and aftertaste, well that’s the after taste of the hops after a long time. Thanks for the extra.

On tap at brouhaha. Jet black pour, big mocha head. Intense roasted, burnt malt aroma. Some dark soy, licorice, and roasted nuts. Viscous body, light carb. Some decent hoping in the finish with a very bitter end. Nice stuff.

Deep black pour with a tight brown head. The nose is roasty and a little bit salty with a lot of pronounced hop aroma. A little bit of heavy licorice and a bit of soft chewy molasses as well. A bit of peppery character as well - a fairly assertive bitterness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap @ the brewpub. Listed as 9.1%. Opaque, nearly black, dark brown head. Hard roast dominates the aroma and palate, some sweet chocolate manages to peek out before a blast of hops finishes things off. An assertive and intensely roasty imperial stout.

Draft. Pours a black body with a fully tan head and good retention. Dark and roast y body with coffee grinds. Coffee is very bitter to the point to feels burnt. A light caramel sweetness is lost in the oily roasted body. An overly roasted imperial stout.

Drank on tap (12 oz) at Vices et Versa (Montreal) by the name Le Naufrageur Stout Impériale, on October 3, 2010. Black, small tan head. Toasty malt aroma, notes of cocoa. Taste of toasted malt, slightly tart fruit notes, dry and bitter aftertaste. Simplistic but good!

Cruchon 1.82L.
