An amber IPA with a thin moka head. In aroma, a herbal malt, with light hopping, nutty and fruity. In mouth, a nutty malt over British hops, oily and smooth. On tap at Festibiere de Gatineau,May 28 2011.

Cruchon 1,82L. De couleur ambrée et claire. Nez fruité (agrumes, traces de raisins sucrés), malté de caramel doux, moyen de houblon herbeux (herbes fraîches, traces de thé), légèrement floral et aux petites notes citriques, léger de biscuits et avec des notes de noix. Moyennement ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen et une texture moyennement huileuse et légèrement crémeuse. Léger goût fruité (agrumes, faibles traces d’abricots) accompagné d’un goût de noix lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute un goût malté de grains de malt très frais et moyennement caramélisés ainsi qu’avec un léger goût de biscuits. Parallèlement, l’on retrouve une moyenne amertume de houblon herbeux (herbes fraîches) aux faibles notes citriques et terreuses jusqu’en finale avec un léger regain de goût de noix asséchantes. Post-goût moyen et un peu sec, moyennement amer de houblon herbeux aux faibles notes citriques et terreuses avec de notes de noix.

My Bottom Line:
Caramelized cereals meet green astringency and grape juice edges (full-on Frontenac malts, basically) before leafy hop bitterness claims the palate.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam circles the clear amber.
-The Frontenac malt flavors are too overwhelming in this one for me, even if everything else is well rendered.
-The slick, prickly mouthfeel makes this quite drinkable.
-If the Frontenac malts were a little softer, this might actually be lots of fun.
-This is far from your average North American IPA. Frontenac malts are too important to make this anything other than a Frontenac IPA.

Cruchon de 1,82, brassin 220, 6,7% Cette bière est d’une superbe couleur cuivré avec une mousse crémeuse. Au nez il y a des arômes de grains, biscuit et un léger caramel. En bouche les grains du nez sont présents, une bonne touche de houblon, de malt caramel. La finale a une forte amertume mais elle est quelque peu déséquilibré.

Hope they did the correction, i screwed up when i entered it.
Roasty,grainy aroma with some floral hops.
Amber color with a decent head.Not quite clear.
Medium bitterness and maltiness.Average carbonation.
This is an attempt at an American IPA that falls short of the mark.
Not really enjoyable, weird off taste of grains and grassy hops.
