(Rating #1431) muzzlehatch (4425), Burlington, Vermont, USA Jan 17, 2007 375 ml naturally-corked bottle from Marché des Saveurs in Montreal, QC (August 2006) served out of the fridge in a White Winter Winery glass. Very very pale, as pale and color-free (just a hint of yellow) as its label brethren, oily and with really quite minimal legs....much more honey in the nose than Les Filles du Soleil, earthy drying/decaying apples and hints of vanilla, a restrained sweetness, lovely....dry, even bitter apples and faint honey combine for a complex, farmy, sour-tart feeling on the tongue, lightly medicinal and alcoholic, very mineralic and husky at the finish, with a nice warmth and a bit of bite to end things; dried/burnt woods also in evidence. A nice aperetif, complex and fascinating, but for me a bit hard to drink. As with Filles du Soleil, I am quite happy to recork and finish it up later, an entire bottle would be impossible.
