Tap at Churchkey. Black, big brown head. Aroma and taste is identical: s’mores!!! I was afraid of this beer at first, but it turned out to be OK.

A deep dark stout with a thin moka head, served with a marshmallow in the glass. Pleasant mix of chocolate and vanilla in aroma. In mouth, a good chocolate, coffee, a bit of licorice. Good balance of these elements. Medium bodied. On tap at Bières et Saveurs, August 29, 2008 (Chambly, QC).

Tap. Pours clear black with an average, rocky tan head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (chocolate, roasted, coffee), light hops (woody), and light esters (fruity) with notes of raisins, dates, and vanilla. Flavor is heavy malt (chocolate, roasted, coffee, cookie), light hops (woody), and light esters (fruity) with notes of prunes and vanilla. Full body, medium warmth, low carbonation, medium-low creaminess with a lightly sweet finish.

draught@brewpub - quite black beer with a modest head retention; pretty lactic and with strong coffeish notes; creamy palate; some earthy bitterness and a medium malt backbone; quite dry and long roasted coffeish aftertaste

On tap at Paradiso. Pours an opaque deep red with no head no lace. Aroma is milk chocolate and cheap coffee. Deep roast coffee in the taste with a dry, harsh finish. Meh.

Draft @ Delirium.

Objectively speaking: After the lemon wedge on top of the weizen, the marshmallow over the stout.
I like: How it managed to keep some head. The looks on my neighbours faces while I was drinking this potion.
I dislike: The gimmicky side. The marshmallow that dominates the aroma. The powdery roastiness contrasts heavily with the candy sweetness from the marshmallow which results in astringency. The global lack of character underneath the foam.

On tap at Le Saint-Bock, pours black with a medium foamy beige head. Aroma is intensely chocolatey, with lots of chocolate cake and fairly sweet. Flavour is very smooth upfront and nicely sweet, with baker’s chocolate cake, sweet cocoa powder and a lactic quality, kind of finishes a bit harsher, but doesn’t take away from the mouthfeel too much. Medium-bodied, nice and chocolatey. Very satisfying and easy to drink. Solid.
