3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
My Bottom Line:
Mild roasted malts and fruitiness is showered in alcohol heat, as peppery hops and charred bitterness seal this lackadaisical Imperial Stout.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam tops the brown-edged darkness.
-Sticky caramel-like sugars appear even though the mouthfeel isn’t too heavy.
-Hops also share menthol-like greenness.
-Alcohol almost takes more room than actual malt flavors in this one, which is too bad.
On tap at the brewpub.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A dark brown stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with grassy grassy character, light licorice, a bit plant like. In mouth , a bitter sweet chocolate with herbaceous character, grassy hops, coffee grind, a bit of harshness, OK.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Drank un tap (6 oz) at the brewpub on October 26, 2013. Black, medium head. Malty aroma of coffee, hints of dark chocolate. Taste of mocha coffee, so more sweet, low bitterness, aftertaste of dark chocolate. Simple but good imp. stout!
