Glouglouburp (1941), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jan 16, 2007 Clear burgundy body with a very small off-white head. The creamy light caramel and the leafy hops were just not made for each other. Other flavours include some liquorice, roasted coffee beans and sweat brown beans. I’m less than impressed by Sergeant’s offerings but still hope they’ll make a comeback but it won’t happen if the light at the end of the tunnel is just a veilleuse (night light). mds (2111), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Dec 22, 2006 Draught. Deep, cloudy mahogany with a small white head. Aroma of raisins, sugars, caramel, but not overly intense. Well formulated flavours - starts with a fair bit of carb and then into some warms sugars, caramel, and bread. A bit simplisitic, possibly, particularly on the outset. Alcohol also seems a bit higher than advertised. Ouf! Miguel (1181), Sorel-Tracy, Quebec, Canada Feb 13, 2006 Robe brune légèrement voilée surmontée d’une mousse qui s’estompe. Arômes de framboises et de malt caramel. Saveurs de bois, d’alcool, de malt caramel et de framboises. red éric (1382), montréal, Quebec, Canada Jan 3, 2006 Hazy dark amber-orangeish hue, with a ring of tan foam head, fruity, floral hops, caramelized malt aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate, with a sweet, crisp caramelized malt, hint of toffee, fruity accent, with a stange sweet soapy flavor, leading towards a sweet malty alcoholic finish.
