660 ml bottle bought @ flaveurs d’ici shared with dad. A: vanilla, chocolate, licorice, bourbon. App: pitch black beige head great lacing. T/p: full body finish is sweet and average long. Oily texture. O: really good. Like the maltiness the bourbon is just present enough. Glad I finally tried that one.

660 ml bottle. Bottle exploded in my face. No, wait, correction: This charming 13$+tx/deposit product...exploded in my face. And I lost about 1/3 of it. Bad start.
Pours an opaque pitch black with a resilient dark beige head. Smell is chocolate, wood, alcohol. First thing that comes out when tasting is...metal. Lots of metal. Hmmm....Dark chocolate, woody, light bourbon. Roasted hazelnut. Not overly aggressive, yet clearly perceptible bitterness. Lingering notes of wood, chocolate and hazelnut. The more I went, the less metallic it tasted, which definitely salvaged it.
Light to medium body, somewhat sticky mouthfeel. Very aggressive carbonation. A clearly unbalanced imperial stout...it is good, I must say, yet, I cannot help but feel highly disappointed by it, especially considering its ridiculous price.

pours very dark brown with a creamy beige head, good retention and lacing. again, something is wrong here with bottle refermentation - the usual, with LTN. vanilla, coconut, roastiness, soy almost burnt mals, sweetness - cloying. disturbing carbonation, medium to full body - oily. too much bourbon. decent resinous-grassy hopping but not enough to cover up all that bourbony stuff. unbalanced. a sipper - must confess, drain poured few milliliters... just ok here...

Bottle (660 ml). Black with a huge frothy beige head and good lacing. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, roasted malt/coffee and slight bourbon notes. Taste is also of chocolate, roasted malt, vanilla and slight bourbon (a little more than in the aroma). Slight bitterness. Medium body. Pleasant and subtle warming alcohol (surprising for a only 8.7% abv RIS). Good drinkability. I like what they’ve done with their bourbon barrels. The bourbon isn’t overwhelming, but it definitely enhance this beer. Nice complexity. It’s really promising for this young brewery. Unfortunately, the price tag on this bottle is way too high (about 17$/bottle).

Noire opaque, col crémeux de bulles fines de couleur moka. Nez d’alcool, de grains très grillés et de fumée. Ample en bouche, arômes boisés de vanille, malt et cerise noire. Complexe, longue en bouche. Très réussie!
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 T_Twaine (4) - Quebec, CANADA - JAN 11, 2013 does not count
Bref, délicieuse bière soviétique basser a rouyn.
Merci!
