On tap at the brewpub. Opaque black body with a thick, lasting brown creamy head. Nice, well balanced malty/hoppy aroma with roasty, cocoa, and vanilla hints. Taste carries woody and roasted cereals notes. Ends with a good bitter/roasty finish. Well done.

My Bottom Line:
Impressive oatmeal aromas and flavors mount vanilla spiciness, sweet molasses and light blackberry esters for an amazingly cohesive and flavorful Oatmeal Stout.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam covers the blackness.
-I don’t know why so many Québécois brewers are excellent at doing Stouts, but I do know I will never complain about it.
-Vanilla is perfectly integrated to the malts and oatmeal; one would almost say the flavors are all malt and yeast driven.
-The mouthfeel is silky and very drinkable.
-A chocolate coulis seems to grace the oatmeal before roasted malts and spicy vanilla define the last half of each sip.
