On tap at the brewpub. Hazy amber body with a thin, lasting white creamy head. Fresh malty/hoppy aroma with citrusy and piney hints. Alcohol is very well hidden. Its sharp hoppy taste carries grapefruit notes and ends with a decent bitter finish. Enjoyable.

My Bottom Line:
This beautiful Double IPA/Barley Wine develops aromatic citrusy hop resins around and within luxurious honeyed cereals in a wealthy mouthfeel worthy of many sips.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A generous head of foam rests atop the cloudy amber.
-The reason I say this is as much a Barley Wine as it is a Double IPA is that the mouthfeel is rich, malts are as important in the flavor profile as the hops, and this drinks like a sipper, which is not usually the case with West Coast Double IPAs.
-Alexandre is great with malts, making them appear judiciously in every brew. I would love to drink a Barley Wine of his. Or a Czech Pilsener for that matter...
-Caramelized cereal flavors appear underneath the honeyed predominance.
-Hops also have a sandy character which appears before the balanced resinous bitterness.

On tap at the brewpub.

From a fresh cask at the brewpub. Huge aroma of juicy citrucy hops! Lots of orange, lemon, and grapefruit. The flavor is very sweet though, I think this would need a little more Malts to balance this out and cut some of the intense sweetness that dominate the finish.
