[Bottle (500ml)] Pours a very dark impenetrable reddish-brown with an average size semi-lasting frothy beige head. Slightly mild but nice aroma of caramel malt, dark fruit, dates, toffee and hints of nuts and chocolate. Flavour follows the aroma but is a tad watery, still nice though. Alcohol is well hidden. Average bodied. Very good stuff.

Pours a deep brown colour with red highlights, a warm beige head, good retention and creamy lacing. Aromas of fruit cake with the fruits and nuts. Caramel as well. The alcohol just slightly warms up. Flavours of roasted malts, sugars with some notes of anise and loads of dark fruits. Bottled "10 MAI 2013", so over a year ago and still quite good. Goes down too well !

500 ml bottle purchased at Peluso (Montreal) on May 12, 2013. Cola color, medium head. Aroma of toffee and sweet spice, slightly malty. Barley sour fruit taste, especially notes of raisins, sour finish. Sweet enough as a scotch ale, but not too much!

My Bottom Line:
Candied fruit, caramel and licorice hints settle in this Scotch Ale’s cushiony mouthfeel, morphing into a delightfully smoky and fruity finish.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam sits atop the darkened mahogany.
-The mouthfeel is creamy and airy at once. Not a heavy sipper, yet you need to respect its girth.
-Alcohol is barely a no show in the flavor profile.
-The aroma is impressive on this one.
-The bottle I am rating was 8 months old when consumed. Seems to be a wonderful time in this beer’s evolution.

Bottle.
