[7268-20150604] Tap. Fragrant raspberry potato aroma. Clear, pale golden orange body with a long-lasting foamy white head and some light lacing. Bitter light raspberry yeast and very mild citrus hops flavour. Medium body is fairly bitter. Good. (7/3/7/3/15) 3.5

An unfiltered body of golden straw colouring, with a nice couple of fingers of white head that is retained throughout the drinking experience. Aromas of mango, tropical fruits, citrus hops, with a hint of pine needles. Palate is quite creamy. Tastes are reflective of the aromas, with hints of mild spice. Excellent hop profile. This is really quite a delicious beer, that could be quaffed, but the abv will slow you down if you are wise.

Tasted from bottle. Pours a slightly cloudy with thick white head with tons of lacing. Aroma is lemon, other citrus fruits, grass and grains and some yeasty notes. Taste is very well balanced with mild bitterness. Flavors of tropical fruits like mango and melon. Also some lemon, caramel, biscuits, grass, herbal notes and a touch of pine. Quite nice for a hot summer day and easily sessionable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Extra point for the name "Four Surfers of the Apocalypso". The nose has a range of soft fruity hops and bready malt - nice. A nice summer beer that is as advertised. Citrus and tropical hops showing mango and lemon set off this refreshing IPA. A touch of soapiness and some easy drinking bready malts a la west coast IPAs make for a nice beer at the barbi!

Bottle from the LCBO. Pours golden with thick white head. Aroma of citrus, mango and pine. Tastes of same. An IPA with a bit less pine. A bit lighter overall. Not bad.

600ml bottle the missus brought back from Ottawa, into a tulip. Pours a hazy golden orange with lasting white head and lots of lacing. Tropical fruit (mainly some mango, a bit of pineapple and pear, some grassy notes. Light sweetness up front before descending into a lasting dry bitter finish. Curious.

600ml bottle. Pours a hazy pale yellow with quite a bit of sediment floaters and a large fine bubbled white head. Really, it looks like a photo shoot beer. On the nose, resinous notes, grapefruit, and light musty Belgian tripel-like notes. As for taste, quite bitter with grapefruit, resinous notes, light tropical fruit, heavy metallic notes, and faint tripel notes that lead into a dense bitter metallic / citrus pithy finish. It’s solid, but not terribly complex. Worth trying, but maybe not revisiting.

Draught (6.5%) @ Lambic Foeder. Rated on 25.06.2015
Aroma has grainy malt, fruity hops and peaches. Feels like a fruity IPA. Flavour has fruity hops, some caramel, grass, minerals and mild grainy tones. Also grassy hops and mild menthol. Rather rich for this ABV.
