COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

A reddish copper ale with a thick creamy off white head. In aroma, grainy caramel malt , herbal notes, not bad. In mouth, a light and grainy malt with light British hops, nutty, quite nice, quaffable. On tap at Brouhaha, June 17 2011.

On tap at braise et houblon. Pale amber color. Medium white head. Roasted cereal and malts mixed with some caramel sweetness. Not very bitter. Creamy mouthfeel. Not their best offering but a good example of the style.

On tap at the brewpub. Nice copper colored pour with creamy white head. Aroma is faint, lots of grain, hops are light and grassy. Taste is mellow, sweet, lots of grain. Palate is creamy but short and a bit watery on the finish. Very easy drinking, reminded me somewhat of New Glarus spotted cow.

(Rating #1291)

Appearance : Clear amber with visible carbonation, small, long lasting creamy top. Neat lace produced.3+
Nose :
Light, creamy. Plain with little variety.Flavour/Palate:
Medium, light bodied. Creamy sided with some spicy-woody middle. Subdued character. Fairly uneventful with boring gently earthy finish.

Pours a clear amber color with a thick creamy white head that leaves nice lacing on the glass. Aroma and flavor of mild spicy and earthy hops. The body is light with a creamy texture and soft carbonation. Moslty decent for a cream ale.

Worty, grainy and somewhat husky malt forward aroma features plenty of sweet caramel. Clear copper coloured body is topped by a low white head that recedes to partial cover with very little lace. Grainy cereal malt flavour is somewhat husky with some caramel and very mild bitterness. Light, creamy body with moderate effervescence (served on nitro). Sampled on tap at the brewpub with MartinT and Olivier_MTL.

Any first impressions?
-A nitroed head laces admirably above the transparent copper.
-Caramel leaps from a bed of fresh worty youth, actually quite similar to their Désinvolte.
-Flavor is a quieter version of the aroma, offering less caramel, but still decent cereal sweetness.
-The prickly bubbling takes a lot of room, but this is a cream ale, so I’m not surprised.

What if you dig deeper?
-There is a mineral quality to the aroma which dissipates after a few minutes.
-The shy, dry hop bitterness verges on mineralic at times.
-The aftertaste vanishes quickly, which is disappointing.
-In the beer menu, they call this a "Bitter", but on the board it said "Cream Ale". Please think of this as a Cream Ale, and a decent one at that.

On tap at the brewpub.
