It is a skillful blend, 40% of which is brewed in Buteuse Brassin Special, Dulcis Succubus and Bretteuse barrels, 40% is from sour rye aged in Banyuls barrels and 20% of which is from young Saison beer. The nose is evocative of a Flanders red, with slightly acidic notes of cherry. The palate is sharp, dry and slightly oxidized, leaving a sweet, fruity taste on the tongue which is immediately followed by a vinous finish reminiscent of great classical beers.

750ml 2 year old bottle from trade. Aroma: green apples, cherries, oaky, and a tad of rye. App: cloudy golden, no head. Taste and palate: thin body, no carbonation, vinous, medium dry sour and rye finish. Overall: what a shame that there is no carbonation. Aroma was awesome. Taste is great. Really like the acidity and vinous texture and that rye in mouth is insane but not having carbonation is a real turn off. Not too sure how to rate that one. Would have given me for sure if it would have been carbonated.

Bottle: Poured a cloudy dirty copper color ale with no head whatsoever. Aroma of iced cider, light woody notes and funky ester is quite the mix. Taste is unbalanced with clashing notes of apple, wood, funky Brett notes and wet leather. Body is little bit thin with no carbonation. I think I get what they tried to do here but I am not rally digging this one. The lack of carbonation is bit harsh and the flavours seemed unbalanced.

Carbonatation moyenne, corps moyen.

September 6, 2014 - my 750ml bottle shared with harrisoni and theydon_bois. Hazy orange pour with a decent frothy white head. Aroma - tart, mildly funky, with oak tannin and plenty of fruit - soft and simple, not aggressive at all. Taste - very gentle barrel, pleasantly fruity Belgian golden ale, just a hint of oaky bitterness. Average body and carbonation, finishes quick - could use a little more funk, but very drinkable and pleasant.

What?!?!

Bottle at Campground Brewdown 2014. Pours a hazed gold with a thin white head. Soft tartness and mild funk on the nose. Medium bodied and musky. Soft tartness and funk.

(750ml bottle) clearish deep gold, soapy large white bubbles. Nose of Brett C, funky, citrus, sawdust, acetone, cherry, and wet wood. Taste is fairly muted, Brett, citrus peel, light funk, mildly tart, easy drinking but a sourish finish wish touch of acetone on the palate.

750ml bottle via special order at LCBO (think they still have some at Volo though). Clear light copper with a white head. Light sour, lemon zest, some refreshing funk, brett, chardonnay, light oak, moderate body and mild carbonation, light funk and citrus on the finish with a touch of white grape. Tasty.

Pale golden, light haze and thin faint head. Clumpy tart. Light juicy. Terse funk. Tang on the finish, peachy pineapple.
