It is a skillful blend, 40% of which is brewed in Buteuse Brassin Special, Dulcis Succubus and Bretteuse barrels, 40% is from sour rye aged in Banyuls barrels and 20% of which is from young Saison beer. The nose is evocative of a Flanders red, with slightly acidic notes of cherry. The palate is sharp, dry and slightly oxidized, leaving a sweet, fruity taste on the tongue which is immediately followed by a vinous finish reminiscent of great classical beers.

Bottle. Pours copper with decent white head. Aroma is bretty, caramel, oak, honey and vinegar. Taste is sherry, sweet and sour notes and wood. Acetic notes doesn’t blend admirably with the beer profile. Body has a certain richness. Decent sour, but the best from TDD’s. I prefer the first and second bottles I’ve tried, maybe the age accentuated the vinegary notes.

Bottle split at The Bottle Shop, big thanks to Harry, 06/09/14. Hazed orange amber with a decent light beige covering. Nose is tangy citrics, tarte peach, funk, light must, herbal notes. Taste comprises tangy apricot, funk, horse blanket, caramel, straw, light spice, tarte tangerines, citric snap, dank wood, vanilla. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Solid stuff.

Bottle. Cloudy yellow body. Sour fruity citrus aroma. Taste is terrific. Lovely sourness, warm fruits, full body. Tiny bit of sweetness for balance. Creamy mouthfeel.

Catching up on RBAG 2014 notes backlog... This bottle came to me from jercraigs-- thanks Jeremy! Hazy light orange. Lactic sourness, unripened peaches, natural yoghurt, light and quenching. Very nice in the summer sun!

Bottle. Pours gold with a white head. Tart fruity base, with peach, light sweetness, mild dark fruits, and a relatively dry finish. Not bad.

Bottle in Toronto during layover enroute BRU to DCA. Slightly hazy golden color, fluffy white had with good retention and solid lacing. Nice aroma of apricot and peach. Taste is softly sour white wine, berries, grapes, vanilla. Nice complexity and character.
