Tried this a few weeks back and forgot to rate. Chocolate, toasted grain, caramel. I remember lots of dried/steeped fruit. Wasnt blown away but I remember quite liking it. Worth another try (and probably a rating tweak).

(On tap @ WVRST, Toronto, Jan 6 2016) Pours black with an average whitish head and no lace. Aroma sweetish dark malts, a bit of grain with caramel and raw sugar, roasty, dry, subtle smoke and oxidation notes. Flavour is lightly sweet dark malts with some toffee, oxidation, light soy and smoky roast. Finish is fairly dry with roasted grains, slight coffee tones, a bit bitter but with some lingering sweetness. Lightish body with lighter carb. It’s a fairly decent, dry sort of Baltic porter but it doesn’t totally click for me - I just keep wanting something more than is really there.

Bottle (600 ml). Split 4-ways. Dark brown with a medium quickly diminishing brown bubbly head leaving little lacing. Aroma is chocolate forward with vanilla notes, roasted malts, maple and raisins. Taste is slightly sweet with chocolate, raisins, plums, maple, vanilla, roasted malt and mild bitterness. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Dried fruits finish. Good Baltic Porter that isn’t too much on the sweet side. Interesting fruity features.

Whatup14 (1268) - Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 26, 2015
Bouteille 600ml. Couleur noire opaque, fine mousse moka pâle. Arôme de malt torréfié, café, pointe de caramel, marc de café. Goût de malt torréfié, café, légère astringence. Carbonatation moyenne, corps moyen-faible.

On tap at St Augustine’s, pours black with a reddish tinge and a small tan head. Aroma brings out notes of vanilla, some roast, and cocoa. Flavour is similar but less pronounced and complex, with roast and a touch of vanilla. Not overly interesting. Medium bodied and unflawed, but fairly boring.

Black with a beige head. Aroma is chocolate, anise, fig. Medium-full bodied, lightly velvety mouthfeel, bittersweet on the palate with a little fruitiness on the finish. Taste is fig, chocolate, anise.

Draft - Sweet molasses, burnt sugars and roast. Jet black with a small beige head. Roast, touch of alcohol and raisin with a syrupy finish.

600ml bottle. Pours a fairly big foamy brownish head and has a deep dark brown appearance. Lacing is decent. Aromas are malty, roasted malts, hints of coffee. Flavours are mainly of the roasted malt variety with some smokiness in there as well. Has some subtle hints of coffee and chocolate. Lots of sweetness on the palate. In the finish, seems to be a bit of raisin and dried fruits. Smooth and slick mouthfeel. A bit of the smokey hints also.
