Bottle: Poured a clear black color stout with a medium size brown foamy head with OK retention and light lacing notes. Aroma of black chocolates with light roasted malt notes is OK. Taste is a mix of black chocolates notes with light residuals sugar notes and dry roasted malt notes. Body is too thin for the style with good carbonation. Not bad but falls a bit short on character.

Bottle. Pours hazy nearly black withairy but stable light tan head. Clear aroma of malt and caramel, with fruity notes and touches of roast. Sweetish flavour of malt, caramel and fruit, with notes of yeast and roast, and bitter, hoppy touches. Roasty aftertaste with nutty notes. Medium body and medium to hogh carbonation. Not bad for a Baltic Porter made far away from the Baltic Sea!

Keg at Stillwell. It pours jet black with a small light tan head. The nose is soft, sweet, oily, treacle, salted liquorice, roasted malt, maritime fayre and cocoa. The taste is bitter-sweet, rich roast, salted caramel, liquorice, toasty, treacle, dark chocolate and coffee with a dry, roasty finish. Medium+ body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Well rounded and easy drinking actually. Good baltic porter.

Brune très foncée, presque noire, avec un col éphémère de mousse de couleur café. Nez de torréfaction, de café, mais surtout de cacao et de rôtie. Goût d’anis, de cacao, de grillé et légèrement d’alcool.

600 ml bottle shared by Phil. Very deep brown with a fair mocha head. Very deep bread crust, light chocolate, somewhat nutty, vanilla, slightly oxidized, odd phenolic smoke. Medium plus body, full, fine carbonation. Messy...smoky, sweet, vaguely fruity, not deep or dark enough; off-dry with moderate bitterness and a sherry-like, slightly hot finish. Surprisingly poor for this brewer.

Bottle. Molasses and dried fruit aroma that is sweet and with some faint vanilla and toasted hazelnuts. Opaque dark brown with clear brown highlights under a lasting tan sheet. Dry and smoky flavour that is somewhat meaty with licorice and vanilla notes in the finish. Slightly warming, with medium carbonation, slightly crisp, surprisingly dry.

Bottle from the brewery store, enjoyed in my hotel room in the beer wasteland of Havre St Pierre Quebec. Solid black color with a huge bubbly tan head with great retention. Rich chocolate with light fruitiness and somewhat of a dubbel profile. Tasty, but not quite what I was expecting.

600ml bottle from Bières et Délices. Aroma: cacao, coffee, burned toast, licorice, cola. App: dark brown , small beige head, little to no retention. Taste and palate: medium body, light sweetness, a bit licoreux, watery, light acidity. Overall: a bit disappointed. Was expecting more. Not enough big for me.

Bouteille 600 ml. Couleur noire, mousse beige. Arôme de torréffaction, un peu de chocolat et pain grillé. En bouche, un peu de cacao, café noir, malt. Assez mince (pas un défaut dans ce cas), se boit très bien malgré ses 7%.
