Porter baltique classique. Texture épaisse et goût chocolaté et de café. Un très bon produit, mais il manque un petit quelque chose encore. Excellent tout de même.

Bottle from the brewery store, enjoyed in my hotel room in the beer wasteland of Havre St Pierre Quebec. Solid black color with a huge bubbly tan head with great retention. Rich chocolate with light fruitiness and somewhat of a dubbel profile. Tasty, but not quite what I was expecting.

UPDATED: MAY 13, 2010 My Bottom Line:
Wealthy raisins and dark chocolate establish themselves atop the roasted maltiness, while molasses add a dash of sweetness to this plump and reverend Baltic Porter.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the blackness with brown edges.
-This has world-class potential written all over it.
-The nose is a beautiful prelude to what is to come in the flavor profile.
-The finish has a touch of nascent vinosity, but it’s barely there for now.
-All malt flavors are united for the greater good, and continue into the finish. They work perfectly with the restaurant’s "côtes levées du diable".
-The lovable, round body is one of its finest features.
-Carbonation is prickly, making the round body feel lighter.
-Roasted malts and leafy hops offer plenty of bitterness in the finish. This is now balanced, like most TDDs.
-Like most of their beers, this one is of the same intensity from nose to flavor profile to finish.

On tap at the brewpub.

AU mondial. Plus léger qu’une stout, assez carbonisé, torréfié, un sucre leger mais distinct.

on tap at bateau de nuit, qc. clear very dark brown with a nice creamy beige head, good retention and lacing. dark roasted malts, burnt hazelnuts, maple, smoke, resin and umami, some sweetness. moderate carbonation, medium body - oily and almost sticky, bold resinous and bitter coffee finish. much enjoyed this bold baltic porter.

on guest tap at The Hourglass Brewery. Black in color with spare creamy light brown head. Aroma is chocolate malt with some booziness. Full bodied, creamy on the palate with soft carbonation. Lightly sweet with chocolate notes and some fruitiness. Pretty good.

UPDATED: AUG 2, 2015 Beautiful dark coffee color with a weak aroma of burnt caramel. Its taste is well balance with mocca and molasse but misses out on precision. A small bitterness that makes this Baltic Porter refreshing. Cheers!
