mabel (1583), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 10, 2008 [1491-20080601] Bottle. Muted plastic chocolate aroma has a bit of toasted grains. Hazy, dark brown amber body with a medium-lasting foamy off-white head. Mostly toasted grains flavour with a nice yeast finish. Medium body. Fair, and that wraps up an interesting three days at the festival.
(2T @ Mondial; Montreal, QC) jerc (3102), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jun 6, 2008 2008-06-01. Dark orange-amber body with a modest beige head. Odd herbal-leafy aroma, light tang to the malt character. Flavour is similar with leafy oddness - the hops? Light bitterness throughout, light astringency in the finish. Average plus palate is quite effervescent. Perhaps I would have enjoyed it more on a different day - it was my last beer of three days at the festival before heading off to the train - but I don’t expect that it would have fared substantially better. De couleur rousse.
Faible gazéification, mais une mousse qui demeure.
Intéressant goût de caramel brûlé.
Légère amertûme.
Dégusté au Mondial de la Bière à Montréal. robinvboyer (980), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada Jun 5, 2008 nothing special really, another basic, amber ale in a market already flooded with them. some nice hops, a touch of malt, but nothing exceptional.
