On tap at L’Hermite (Victoriaville). Slightly hazy amber with a medium creamy off-white head and heavy lacing. Aroma is of intense orange at first, but it quickly diminish in intensity (which help the balance). There’s also coriander and caramel. Taste is slightly sweet with strong orange zest, moderate coriander, caramel and slight bitterness. Thin to medium body. Somewhat watery. Good refreshing Belgian White. At first, I was worried about the intense orange presence, but it then became more balanced and and quite easily drinkable.

Dégustée en fût sur place. De couleur jaune et voilée. Nez de levures fruitées (agrumes, surtout citron, léger de bananes) aux notes épicées (coriandre et clou de girofle), moyen de blé avec des traces de pain et de houblon floral. Mince-moyenne en bouche avec un pétillement moyen et une texture aux notes crémeuses. Goût de levures fruitées (agrumes – citron et zest, très léger de bananes) et moyennement épicées (coriandre, notes de clou de girofle) lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute un moyen goût de blé aux notes asséchantes ainsi que des notes de grains de céréales sucrés puis en finale l’on retrouve des notes amères de houblon herbeux. Post-goût moyen-court et un peu sec, très légèrement amer de levures fruitées (zest d’agrumes, notes de pelures de bananes) avec des notes de blé et de houblon herbeux (printemps 2007)

Cloudy yellow. The aroma is spicy, floral and malty. Light-bodied, dryish finish with just a hint of malt and some coriander.

Robe jaune brumeuse, odeur d’agrume et coriandre typique, au goût elle est fraîche et un peu acide. Un brin savonneuse (levure unibroue?). palais très doux, peu de CO2, les agrumes restent longtemps en bouche. Correct pour une blanche.

On tap at brewpub. A yellowish white ale with a thin white head. Very low head retention. Mostly tastes of citrus and coriander. Very little after-taste or bitterness. Would be quite good as a terrasse summer ale.

on tap at brewpub. hazy pale yellow, small white head, good retention/lacing. nose: wheat, citrus, grass. taste is wheat, pepper, citrus, light but present herbal hopping. lively, light body, short herbal finish.

Originally rated October 2006 at the brewpub. Pours a cloudy golden-beige colour with a bit of lacing and light carbonation. Citrus nose with Belgian white yeast and notes of spices. Very refreshing mouthfeel. Orange is present all the way through and good grainy malt (or wheat) finish. Not much spices in the taste. Pretty good witbier with a more pronounced wheat taste to it.
