750ml bottle at the DC local tasting. Pours a caramel amber with a frothy white head. Aroma is all apples, almost cider-like, a little caramel, almost like apple cobbler, perhaps a little brett. Flavor is sweet, bone sticking caramel, apples, butterscotch. SUPER dry finish. Loved this.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bit of apple in the nose, some smoky brett, bit of pear and just a tad of herbal hops. Flavor is initially sweet, with apple, pear and honey, but soon after is followed by lots of oakey tannins, light funk and tartness. Medium body is moderately carbonated with a tannic, bitter finish. Not that bad.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Light amber. Lively. Slight hazy but limited head. The aroma is complex - brett forward with barrel nuances (fruit) and accents of the underlying tripel (florals, phenols, continental hops). The phenols can be a bit aggressive. A bit hot, and with a bit much paint thinner. Good dryness, though, with hints of brett and woody accents. Nice fruit. Not as rounded as I’d like it to be, but a decent brew.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle shared by Presario. Warm amber, a very nice bright color with a scant head. Slight pedio is manageable in the aroma. Perfume and saison character with plenty of spice, egg shells, persimmon, and pomelo--not quite citrus. Great palate with good quaffability. Solid carbonation. Citrusy hop flavors are excellent, reminiscent of a Belgian-style IPA. Persimmon again, and pomelo pitch. Astringent with nice lingering persimmon on the tongue, dry, gets better with every sip.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bret is notable in the aroma but the fruity yeast esters are still apparent along with some alcohol. Peppery, cinnamon, nutmeg are all apparent as well. Clear deep golden colour is topped by a low but lasting white head. Flavour offers browned apples, spice, pepper, nutmeg, calvados, alcohol and some marzipan. Brandy is especially notable on the aftertaste. Strong alcohol warming. Thick rich and creamy with wonderful carbonation that dances on the tongue. Delicious! Tulip glass. Cellar temperature.Bottle (Batch 2) savoured at the Olympic tasting session.
