On tap at WVRST. Pale mahogany with beige head. Nice semi roasted malt, fresh, crisp, bit sweet, grainy on the finish with moderate carbonation and mild body. Easy to drink and would probably be nice on a hot day.

Draft @ Lord Hobo. I guess the inside of this place is supposed to look like the inside of a boxcar. Needless to say it’s poorly lit. I could tell it was dark in color with thin head. Nose is chocolate and Munich malts. The smell leads into a dirty earthy malt flavor. Brown sugar hints with roasted nuts with earthy Munich malt finish. Medium body with a soft carbonation. Overall not really something I would reach for again.

Draft. Crystal clear dark brown body with small off-white head. Aroma is moderately sweet, caramel, some nut, light milk chocolate, sourness. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, nut, some milk chocolate, light sourness. Medium body, some stickiness.

4oz pour at Churchkey’s Bells event during DC Beer Week 2013. Pours a clear dark amber with some creamy, beige head. Nose is oddly a little smokey, apple, malt, a little corn cob. Flavor is sweet, apple, malt, light smoke. Malty and smokey finish.

Pours brown with very low beige head. Reddish reflects. Aroma is of malt. Taste is of malt, burnt caramel, sligth bitterness, some nuts. Sweet. Palate: Medium body. Overall: Not bad. Not outstanding. A tad oversweet.

Draught at TdD Tap Takeover, Wvrst, May 26. Pours a deep murky reddish-purple with an average size frothy tan head and some lacing. Mild but nice aroma of dark fruit, lightly toasted caramel malt and a hint of chocolate. Flavour of dark fruit and caramel malt, lightly toasty, along with a bit of alcohol and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied. Pretty good.

Drank on tap at Saint-Graal in Sainte-Thérèse (Québec) on June 5, 2013. Red brown, small head. Mi sweet aroma of barley, green herbs with hints of fruitiness. Taste of green wheat and barley, with notes of raw sugar, bitter nuts. Very unusual taste for his style!

2013-05-26. Mahogany tinged dark brown body, modest tan head. 3++ Aroma is a good precursor of the flavour, lightly fruity malt, earthy touches. Flavour is malt forward, lightly fruity, sort of earthy character, almost mushrooms meets smoke? Not bad but I’m not entirely a fan of how it comes together. 6+ Average plus bodied palate, modest carbonation. 3+ Decent and well done but not for me. On tap at Wvrst, Toronto

Tap at Wvrst. Beautiful deep brown pour - white head. The nose is quite subtle. A touch of toasted malt and some light sweetness. A bit of astringency and some herbal hoppiness. A touch of sweetness. Malts seem subdued for the style and there is a little bit of estery yeast character but its reasonably nice.
