3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Beershine (4754) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - JUN 1, 2012
Draft at brewpub. Light amber orange, lively with rising bubbles and stable cap. Natural malty aroma, nutty with fun granola notes. Soft palate and gentle carbonation. Finish is reminiscent of French amber ales, with good balance, toffee, and a lingering hop finish. Very nice.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 JulienHuxley (1154) - Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 3, 2012
On tap at the brewpub. This beer is back with a new rap I think (last ratings date from the brewery’s first year, in 2006). Cloudy gold pour with an amber tint, covered by creamy white foam. Tons of butterscotch and honey in the nose, much sweeter than I was expecting and with a bit of upsetting diacetyl, no hop aroma to speak of if not for a slight floral presence. Taste is more interesting as the caramel/toffee/butterscotch and honey really add layers of nice sweet complexity to this beer. Hops are missed here as well though, but the beer doesn’t taste cloyingly sweet. Palate is average and enjoyable, smooth carbonation with a full, warming body. Much different than I expected, interesting style, kind of a good winter pint beer.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Metalchopz (1429) - Quebec, CANADA - AUG 10, 2011
Originally rated October 2006 at the pub. Pours a golden colour with a slight orange to it. The head leaves a bit of lace and a ring stays around. Very mild fruit perfume aroma. This beer has a thicker mouthfeel than most brews of this type. Grainy start with a fruity finish. Quite interesting and original taste, just a tad light though.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 TaktikMTL (4238) - Montréal-Nord, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 4, 2007
(Rating #1290)

Clear golden pour with a thin white head. Aroma and flavor of malt with some caramel sweetness. The palate is light and chalky with soft carbonation. Decent.

Robe blonde claire surmontée d’une mousse blanche mince qui s’estompe. Arômes de fruits rouges et de bananes. Saveurs de céréales, de fruits et de levure.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 tiggmtl (4475) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 9, 2006
Caramel, mild citrus and chewy toffee in the sweet and grainy aroma. Aroma seems worty and perhaps underattenuated. Lightly hazy amber coloured body is topped by a thin white head that recedes to partial cover with scant lacing. Caramel and toffee are the stars here with some mild fruity notes and very restrained bitterness. Somewhat sweet and perhaps underattenuated. Light-medium body with moderate to lively carbonation. Sampled on tap at the brewpub with MartinT and Olivier_MTL.

Any first impressions?
-A veil of foam floats atop the transparent, amber-hued, golden.
-A nose of delicate caramel oozes out of some fresh grain. A very young beer?
-Prevalent yet quiet fruitiness offers peaches and honeymelon, amongst others, in an uberclean vessel.
-Very drinkable with a svelte, well-malted body which seems to be one of their trademarks.
What if you dig deeper?
-Finishes a little watery with no bitterness whatsoever, slowly attempting to lure macro lovers into changing colors.
-The fruity complexity is appreciable, even branching out into dried apricots.
-They may have too many approachable, easily drinkable beers on their menu (for my tastes), but they are trying to win over a population which has never heard of anything else but Molson and Labatt. Kudos to them for doing it with quality.
On tap at the brewpub.
