2006 vintage - 9.5% ABV, subsequent batches 7.5% ABV.

As long as TdD keeps batting them out of the park, I will be in the parking lot at a classy tailgate party waiting to catch them. She’s a pretty lil’ number, some yeasties floating about in a ruddy dark amber body capped by a creamy and yet fizzy off-white head. Wonderfully spicy without being spicy, my guess is that it is owing to a fine Belgian species putting in work in the heat. A balance is struck between bitter and sweet, caramel, faint bubblegum and lightly buttered whole wheat bread poking about provide a smooth backbone here. Cinnamon, coriander, black pepper and herbal ju-ju pounce on the opportunity to keep the scales level. Fine enjoyment comes from the fact that this brew isn’t super dry and highly carbonated; instead, a velvety but effervescent texture coats the innards. Grab three, drink two and cellar one. Repeat.

Poured from bottle. Aromas of fruit and caramel. Pours a dark red. Has a medium sweet taste. Medium body, sticky texture, and a slightly bitter finish. An excellent brew.

Pours dark red with a small beige head that disappears to a ring. Aroma is lots of spice, cinnamon, cadamon, nutmeg. Taste is much the same but everything works together. A little licorice, nutmeg, cadamon, cinnamon.

Christmas may have passed, but this bottle managed to maintain it’s residency in my fridge until now. Pours a fairly transparent ruby/copper with a large off-white head. Aromas of plum, dark berries, pepper, and caramel. There is a very sweet fruity flavor, along with some caramel malty-ness and a light peppery finish. Pretty refreshing beer and not your average Christmas ale.
