Thanks Gene! Transparent nut brown, thin white ring for a head. Liquified bubblegum cherry nose, so incredibly sweet, also some nail polish. Flavor is more watery, dark fruits, light caramel, and paper, then the stinging sugar. Teeth rotted by the time the glass is empty.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
500mL at Churchkey thanks to Travlr. The pour is a reddish, tea amber with a suddy, tan head. Nose is a little bit off with sweat and acetone. Moves to toast and husky malt. Taste is syrupy, boozy, mildly buttery, overly sweet. But overall pretty rich and accomplishes the heavier Christmas Belgian Strong Ale character. Malt forward with decent maple and boozy cherries. Not bad.

500 ml bottle via glouglouburp- Christmas beer in August, why the hell not? Pours a light cola and ruby with surprising clarity and minimal fizzy head. Nose- slightly musty, belgian candi sugar, hint of dark fruits. Taste- plums, raisins, mint leaves, touch of molasses and some spice but quite understated. Finishes clean and not at sweet for the style and also manages to not have any underlying alcohol heat. The lack of cloying sweetness and lack of booze like qualities make for a very drinkable belgian ale.

Poures out a brownish red hazy brew with a small fizzy light brown head with zero lacing. Warming spices, lightly peppery, herbs, light alcohol, caramel, different. The flavour is quite unique. Pepper, anise, caramel, spices, herbal something, candy like stuff that isn’t ultra sugary, weird orange, hints of smoke along with the alcohol, very interesting. Spice heat, carbonated pretty good, caramel, smoke finish. Interesting beer.. interesting.

I tried this beer on July 15, 2011 at "Bar Volo" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a translucent reddish-brown colour with a minimal white cap. The aroma was caramel, dark fruit, and licorice. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium high carbonation. The flavour was caramel, molasses, and sugar. Great tasting beer, without being sickly sweet.

Backlog - May 13, 2010. 500ml bottle shared by blankboy with me and garthicus. Deep clear amber with a smallish beige head. Aroma of light sweet caramel malt, candi sugar and light floral/perfume bitterness to almost balance it - not all that boozy. The taste doesn’t deliver as much of the pungency in the aroma, mostly sweet Belgian toastiness and candied fruit, and medium-intensity alcohol presence. Average body, solid carbonation, starts and finishes candi-sweet with a bit of sweaty yeast/floral pungency in the finish. Quite nice, not a world-beater, but a good winter brew.

500ml.bottle from Peluso. The color is brown with a thin beige head. The aroma is of malt and spicies. The taste is also of malt sweet fruits, candy that you had as a kid around Christmas time and spicies. This was for me a good example of a Chrismas beer.
