COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

2006 vintage - 9.5% ABV, subsequent batches 7.5% ABV.

Bouteille 500 ml. 7.5%. Cuvée Noël 2011. Couleur brune-rousse, mousse beige fine.

Pours a deep reddish copper hue with a fleeting, bubbly beige head that practically disappears in seconds. Aroma is rich and complex; strong tones of caramelized fruits (plums and raisins), intermingle with a boozy undertone. Solid malty, bready and spicy profile in the flavor; practically like a liquid spiced raisin bread and Christmas pudding rolled into one, the sweetness curbed by a mild alcoholic heat in the finish. This is a great example of the style and once again showcases the mastery of this brewery.

Pours a reddish copper brown with some white lacing. Discreet aromas of malt, fruit, banana. More lively on the tastebuds, lots of licorice, more banana, dried fruit and some herbs. Nicely complex. Some booziness on the finish works just fine in this kind of beer. I liked this one.

500 ml. bottle. Pours a medium, poorly retained, becoming a thin film head, over a hazy brown (SRM 20) body.....nose is plum, date, allspice....tastet is sweet honeyy, dried fruits including plum, raisin, spice including cardamom, light clove, hints of allspice, finishing with a light bitterness.....mouth feel medium, slightly sticky, mildly astringent, carbonation adds a pleasant fizz. The spices and honey are both done with a deft hand, making for a spicy, sweet combination, that results in a nice beer. BJCP 8/3/14/4/7

Pours deep mahogany into an English pint. Off-white head with good retention pancakes and recedes leaving no lacing. Sweet toffee and nutmeg aromas. Hot with sweet treacle, bread and earthy nutmeg. Lasting warming finish.
