On tap @ Mondial 2008. Aroma is a roasted malt kick, lots of caramel present too, deep chocolate, tiny toffee head. Flavour is rich malt, dark cherry, red plums, caramel, treacle and almonds. Medium bodied, complex, beautifully balanced. Terrific!

Clear brown pour with a thin offwhite head. Interesting aroma of cinnamon, caramel, candy, herbs and fruits. Good flavor of candied fruits with herbs. The body is medium with a creamy texture and gentle carbonation. Like the other Grivoise it’s interesting.

A murky shade of brown, sort of like a watered down cheap coffee, the head was brown and thin.
Nutty, caramel and even leathery nose, with light alcohol finale with a faint mint-like hoppyness. Very interesting!
Sugarplum sweetness, medium body, the booze is tamed and comes with a cinnamon-like freshness and a warm feeling down the throat without ever being hot. It was quite refreshing and I enjoyed this a whole lot, it showed a good amount of balance and subtlety, sort of a loose interpretation of the style but who cares, it’s good.
