COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This imperial stout, aged in bourbon barrels, gives notes of roasted malt on a coffee, dark chocolate and caramel background. The velvety palate is sustained by a sagacious amount of alcohol warmth that give this beer the taste and feel of a fine spirit.

750ml shared by ygtbsm94: Pours a barely transparent dark mahogany with a stringy-lacing beige head. Has a sweet dark caramel and smoked malty nose with some brown sugar and vanilla notes. Starts with pretty good fullness and fine carbonation with a hint of vinous oak and sweet dark caramel maltiness with some dark chocolate and earthy smoky bitterness toward the finish. Pretty well-balanced and should age well.

A deep dark stout with a thick frothy brown head. In aroma, bitter chocolate, licorice, peaty notes and alcohol warmth. In mouth, a smooth peaty chocolate with burned coffee, vanilla, aniseed, loads of alcohol, nice. Tasted with GRM, Puskinwow, Boutip, Ian, Mike on Sept. 7 2012.

A really interesting imperial stout. Pours a dark muddy black with a soapish beige head and tons of huge bubbles. The nose is amazing with an overlying bourbon wood note, funky fruit and yeast notes, toffee, espresso and vanilla. Smooth and silken taste with an expressed roasted malt and coffee bean note. Rich and dessert like but a tad bit watery. Overall an exceptional brew

750ml bottle. Pours pitch black with a lasting beige head. Prominent alcohol, wood, maple and vanilla notes in the nose; whiskey character really coming through. Picking up some brief roasted malt and earthy chocolate up front in the flavor, though it is quickly enveloped by a pleasant bourbon overtone that carries through to a very warming alcoholic finish. Palate is quite smooth and creates an easy drinking mouth-feel. I don’t foresee any issues in finishing off this bottle in one sitting; oftentimes I find that barrel aged, higher ABV brews can become overwhelming...a commendable achievement from another of Quebec’s finest microbreweries.

Thanks Slovaksniper!!! Pour black with a big tan head good lace. Aroma vanilla, oak, chocolate, roast, caramel, cocoa, hints of booze. Taste oak, vanilla, wood, smoke, tobacco, chocolate, roast, coffee, cocoa. MF medium to full body a little lacking with fizzy carb. Complex beer but needs a bit bigger body to help support felt a little light and slightly rough around the edges, still quite tasty tho.

Bottle. Dark syrupy pour, no head. Aroma of burnt sugar, caramel, light coffee, some light bourbon notes. Taste is quite sweet, molasses with a bit of a roasted grain finale. Palate is a little syrupy, good body, not too heavy because of the slightly boozy finish but lacks carbonation. Decent IS.

Bottle, thanks to Slovaksniper, pours a nice dark black, decent head, the was light tan, aroma was very sweet, lots vanilla and very bourbony, I think this beer would turn out really well with some age, it was a quite sweet at this stage, but overall a really solid offering

Bottle, 04/01/2013. Pours black, huge foamy tan head dies down to an inviting fluffy pillow on the surface, large bubbled lacing. Aroma is dark chocolate, licorice, sweet chestnut, vanilla cake frosting with caramel and bourbon in the end. Taste is chocolate and cocoa powder, dark roast porter notes with slight coffee bitterness, bourbon prominent in the finish, a little hot but not too abrasive. Medium full palate, becomes more round with time as it was perhaps overly carbonated at first. Enjoyable, though not top notch, imperial stout for me.
