COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

February 19, 2011 - at Volo Trou du Diable event. Mostly clear bright amber pour with a smallish creamy off-white head. Smells more Belgian than anything, reasonably sweet, lightly funky and a bit "wild" - hardly any alcohol presence. Taste is more hoppy, grassy, tangy, again a bit wild - quite fruity - done with a Belgian yeast perhaps? or the house yeast character? nice, regardless - pungent and grassy, even a touch catty, more alcohol - not boozy, not "west coast" but a solid 7+. Light of body, a bit acidic (green catty hops), just average carbonation, just a middlin’ bitterness but a fairly long, somewhat low-level finish. Interesting - all round an interesting brewery.

600ml bottle from the LCBO. Pours a clear, light copper with a two finger, white head that leaves nice lacing. Aroma has notes of pine, resin, caramel, and a mild fruit. Taste is balanced with a subtle bitterness, fruity esters, and a hint of caramel sweetness. Medium body and carbonation. Pretty clean mouth feel with a mild, bitter aftertaste. Overall pretty refreshing. Subtle bitterness paired with fruity esters, pine, and resin.

Exactly my type of Beer. Taste hops a lot. Love it. Nice bottle too. I love Le Trou du Diable in Shawi.

Somewhat hazy golden pour, 1 finger of head. Bitter hop aroma. Fruity, citrus fruit, bitter, but the beer is somewhat unbalanced (much like my ex GF) and the body is fairly light (Also much like my exgf - Only hotties allowed in my house!). A bit too boozy to be sessional.

Nice amber pour with a white head. Aroma includes grapefruit, citrus and pine. Light hoppy start with a nice bitter ending.

600ml bottle from @El Lúpulo Feroz, Oviedo. 07-04-2014.
In short: a fruity golden ale.
Pours some hazy golden, with nice white head. Moderate head retention, some lacing. Fruity, flowers "canadian character" aromas. Medium body, average carbonation, some crispy texture. Taste is herbal, grassy, some sweet, mild bitterness. Enjoyable. Not an IPA at all.

11/8/7/9/11/9

March 24, 2014. 600mL bottle from LCBO. Golden yellow with white head. Big fluffy head. Grapefruit and lemon aromas with an inking of the hop bitterness apparent. Straw, lemon, grapefruit flavours, touch of bitterness and biscuit and soap. More balanced than expected from aroma.

Love the label, the beer its self is session drinkable, decent. But I expected more from this IPA. The taste is a bit mild on hop taste.

Aroma of piney dank hops. Crisp white head that lasts. Taste similar to aroma with enough malt backbone to keep it from being only a hop delivery method. Little sweetness. More of a bready, biscuity malt profile, true to its stated APA inspiration. Similarly there is no noticeable yeast character. Nice.

600 mL bottle. Pours amber with a thick lasting cap of white. Nose has a touch of citrus zest, some pine, caramel and hop spice. Some caramel malt sweetness, but finishes balanced on the bitter side. Moderate body and carbonation. Quite drinkable, but not over the top.
