COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

February 19, 2011 - at Volo Trou du Diable event. Mostly clear bright amber pour with a smallish creamy off-white head. Smells more Belgian than anything, reasonably sweet, lightly funky and a bit "wild" - hardly any alcohol presence. Taste is more hoppy, grassy, tangy, again a bit wild - quite fruity - done with a Belgian yeast perhaps? or the house yeast character? nice, regardless - pungent and grassy, even a touch catty, more alcohol - not boozy, not "west coast" but a solid 7+. Light of body, a bit acidic (green catty hops), just average carbonation, just a middlin’ bitterness but a fairly long, somewhat low-level finish. Interesting - all round an interesting brewery.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a hazy golden topped by a huge frothy white head showing great retention and lacing properties. The nose is fruity, orange, grapefruit, muskmelon. Some honey sweetness. The taste is fruity and sweet and well balanced The brew is full-bodied but shows timid carbonation. The finish presents a lingering mellow grassy bitterness and faint tartness. Pretty good beer overall and a good partner for the BBQ. Cheers!

Orange color with big head. Bitter oranges, marmalade-like. Fruity. Taste is fruity-citrusy as well. Thick juicy feeling. Bitter finish. Nice IPA.

Golden yellow, giant white head. Lots of hops but well balanced with the malt profile. Slight bitterness in the finish. Excellent.

Poured from a bottle. Very nice citrus aroma. Pours a hazy pale with white head. Has a medium bitter taste. Medium body, oily texture, with slight bitter aftertaste. A nice smooth IPA.

600ml bottle from Halles St-Jean. Aroma: citrus, tropical fruits and a tad of caramel and pines. app: slight hazy copper, medium frothy head. Taste and palate: smooth and resin moderate body, medium carbonation, light to medium bitterness but could be related to bottle not fresh. Overall: a great surprise, wasn’t expecting much and got way more. Lovely aroma and appearance, taste and palate could be a tad more bitter and less creamy but again might be the freshness of the beer, next time I’ll make sure to buy it fresh.
