Flavour is full bodied, and a good malt backbone adds to the beer. A nice dry bitter finish, a very solid IPA. beerbuzzmontreal (2769), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Aug 30, 2006 Clear amber pour with a medium bubbly head. Strong but well-balanced aroma and flavor of floral, citrusy hops but the malt is on par and feels earthy and sweet, it finishes on strong bitterness. The mouthfeel is dry. Bright amber-copper with a nice lasting bit of foam....spicy but fairly subdued earthy hops, piney and floral characteristics, little if any citric notes....dry and bitter initially on the palate, the malt comes out midpalate and sweetens you up for a strongly dry, harsh and somewhat mineralic finish....mouthfeel is solid, full, with near-perfect natural carbonation....the bitterness lasts and lasts. -A veil of foam shelters the blood orange gown.<br />
-Earthy, leafy hops are wisely integrated to chocolatey accents. An attractive perfume to say the least.<br />
-Avid wooden hoppiness bursts onto the palate accompanied by fruity caramel maltiness; a striking homage to west coast IPAs.<br />
-Superb extraction creates a nutritious, slender feel.<br />

<i>What if you dig deeper?</i><br />
-The important resinous bitterness is well-calculated, lip-smacking.<br />
-This is so well-balanced and flavorful for the style; only Bedondaine’s Amère Veilleuse, and Dieu du Ciel’s Corne du Diable have achieved this to my knowledge on the Quebec brewpub scene.<br />
-Oranges and floral hops offer a colorful flamenco demonstration for tongue and nose.<br />
-A splendid IPA all around to please the most serious hopheads.<br />

<b>On tap at the brewpub and at Vices et Versa.</b> Lubiere (3410), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Sep 10, 2006 A reddish dark amber ale, with ruby hues and a thin white head. Caramel malt with restrained c-hops, nice and floral. In mouth, a nicre caramel malt with sharp floral hop attack, lingering in mouth, piney, and typical grapefruit, with light alcohol warmth. Medium bodied, and well constructed. On tap at bar, Sept. 3 2006.
