HogTownHarry (6199) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - MAR 11, 2015
May 26, 2013 - at Volo. All their beers are stunning looking, really. This one is a bright and clear peachy amber with a solid beige creamy/rocky head, thick lacing. Dry and leafy aroma, some reason, some alcohol presence, vague generic fruitiness - and why do their beers all hide the ABV? I mean well done, but damn ... Taste is a little tart, pungent and sprucey, almost has acidic character, but the tartness and bitterness are very nicely balanced by the moderately sweet malt body - nice stuff. Thick and astringent with solid low-level carbonation, has a fairly long pungent dry lightly acidic linger

On tap at E+OH, dark copper color, with a small beige head, with a mild sweet grainy toasted, pale, caramel, bread malt, nutty nose, with some toffee, sugar pie crust, light floral leafy, grassy, citrus hop, subtle lemon tea leaf accents in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a nice earthy flowery leafy, grassy, citrus, tobacco hoppy, mild sweet grainy toasted, pale, caramelized malty character, with some spritzy lime, lemon rind, tea leaf, subtle nutty, pie crust, toasted breadcrumb, toffee flavours, leading towards a soft toasted, caramelized maltiness, nutty, lingering earthy harsh green tobacco leaf, grassy, leafy, citrus hop bitterness finish.

On tap @ Vices et Versa. Rather dark amber pour for a pale ale...uh oh... Heavy caramel and bready malt aromas. Some grassy and citrusy hops as well. Not very complex, just kind of malty. The flavor has a lot of bread, toast, toffee, and caramel. The hop profile is kind of minimal in terms of flavor. It’s mostly just grassy. But, the beer does have a fair amount of bitterness. I’m not sure how to feel about this. It doesn’t taste bad, it’s just not at all what I anticipated.

Eructoblaster (3273) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 1, 2015

On tap at WVRST. Clear dark copper with a foamy head. Mild tropical fruit aroma. Taste of pepper, caramel and bread malts, with a dry finish. Medium body, nice carbonation. Tastes like a hybrid of an American and English pale ale. Enjoyable.
