Rastacouere (5418), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Jun 3, 2008 Objectively speaking:
A fruity, clean dark lager that hits the spot, but is quickly forgotten.
I like:
Fun earthy, toasty malt profile. Just rather well-developed malt, touching every desired nuance. Noticeable lager character.
I dislike:
No inherent freshness noticeable. A bit syrupy for a beer that is nowhere near thick.
MartinT (4458), Montreal, Quebec, Canada May 8, 2006 Any first impressions?
-A creamy head with ample lacing decorates the dark burgundy/mauve.
-Some mineral notes first appear in the discrete aroma.
-Raspberry and cherry fruitiness are well-integrated to the caramel maltiness.
-The round maltiness is gladly exposed by the feeble bubbling.

What if you dig deeper?
-Malt sweetness nicely expands into hazelnuts, chocolate, and damp earth.
-This feels a little too early in its lagering, so all flavors aren’t quite coming together yet, but the endemic bock character is definitely there and full of tasty potential.
-The aroma does stray away from initial mineral allusions after a while, offering subtle but ripe berries, and grainy pils malt.
-This beer is a smaller version of their Bockée, which must be a very nourishing doppelbock. Can’t wait to try it!

On tap at the brewpub. tiggmtl (4178), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada May 9, 2006 Raisins, bread dough and some alcohol in the slightly chalky malt forward aroma. Clear, ruby-brown body is topped by a low, off white, fine bubbled head that recedes to ring with some patchy lace. Chocolate, grainy malts, raisins, blackberries, black currants, raspberries and plums are all apparent in the flavour but a strong mineral character detracts from overall enjoyment. Medium light body with lively carbonation. Sampled on tap at the brewpub with MartinT and Olivier MTL. Radek Kliber (3403), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jun 2, 2008 Draught at Mondial 2008
Appearance: dark brown with tanned creamy top, fizzy midlle.3-
Nose Rich fruity character , sweet roasty notes and unusual hint of vanilla 6+
Flavor/Palate : Medium light bodied , dry roasted character but with out sufficient malt backing. Short , sour somewhat fruity side ending with roasty theme.
Sammy (3242), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jun 2, 2007 40% wheat, German yeast. Medium mouthfeel, sweet and creamy. Big head with lace on a dark colour. Some sourness at the end from their wheat similar to their straight out wheat style.
