Easily the best ’Sner I have ’snerred in a ’sner’s age! T du D just bangs beers out of the park, especially styles I am not a huge go-to fan of. It’s a hazy light straw with a thin white head that smells of wheat, corn, must basement, cereal and white wine. Taste is bittersweet, light caramel and white bread. I’d pound this Pils on the reezy son...uhhh!

Le Trou has never let me down yet. Poured a hazy straw with a small sudsy head that disappeared fast. Aroma was of wheat, honey, citrus, and a little vinous. Tasted of cereal, wheat, and light orange flavour. Had a medium body with a smooth mouth feel and low carbonation. It had a weak white wine bite near the end, which was refreshing. Not big on Pilseners, but Trou always does a nice twist on things.

600 mL bottle courtesy of Graham, served in a tasting glass. Pours clear amber with a small white head that fades to a thin remnant and leaves a small amount of fine lace. The nose has big pilsnery, grainy malts with grassy hops, pale fruit and soft tropical fruit, citrus peel and a touch of pine. The flavour is fairly dry with pale malts, grass and tropical fruit. The finish is long and fruity but quite dry. On the palate it is medium in body with a slightly dry texture and soft carbonation. Overall, a nice keller pils that introduces some American hop notes to the mix. 2014-08-02

Draught, National on 17th, Calgary. Very cloudy yellow, smells yeasty, tastes it, too. Soft body, mostly sweet, and overall malty but a bit bland. I won’t call it bad but I’m disappointed.

On tap at E+OH, slight hazy blonde hue, with a small white head, with a light cut hay, faint floral citrus saaz hop nose, with a faint soapy gummy yeast hint, a light honeyed pale, pilsener malt accent in the aroma follows through on a light-bodied palate, with a faint spicy yeast, mild crisp honeyed pale, pilsener cerealic malt character, with a light wet flowery grassy, citrus hop saaz, pie crust, subtle honey candyish lollipop flavour, leading towards a mild sweet honeyish pale, pilsener maltiness, light lingering citrus hop bitterness finish.

Tap at Vices et Versa Montreal. 20oz Nonic Pint, $7. Pours cloudy, chill haze yellow gold. Minimal foam. Nose is sweet apple, yellow apple, lemon, pineapple. Taste is mildly soapy, medium sugar, yellow apple. Clean, semi soapy finish. No malt character, not too grassy hoppy either. That sort of kills the whole purpose of pils in my opinion. Still, it is drinkable just not a Top 50 pilsner like it currently stands.
