On tap at Le Projet, Quebec City. Pours a really dark brown with a really thin offwhite head that offers light lacing. Nose is lightly fruity and showcases burnt/heavily toasted malt in a well behaved manner. Taste is also fruity with less roast than expected and lightly bittee. Body was medium, the drink itself served way too cold and carbonation way too high. I believe they are not that used yet to handling barrels. Mouthfeel was lean, rendering the whole ordeal really drinkable. A good porter, true to style.

Tap at wvrst, pours black, aroma is roasty and the flavour is a nice burn roast coffee with some chocolate finish, a nice offering

Draught at TdD Tap Takeover, Wvrst, May 26. Pours black with an average size frothy beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, fruit, light hops and some yeast. Dry flavour, roasty, a touch sweet, and with a good amount of hops and some fruit. Medium bodied. A really good Porter.

Tap at Wvrst. Very deep dark brown pour with a thick tan head. Gorgeous pour really. The aroma has a rich deep chocolate aroma. Lean cocoa and a fresh lean body. Rich and a little binesrthy. Quite hoppy on the finish with a touch of chalk. Very dry it comes across as more stout than porter to me. I like it a lot nonetheless.

On tap at La Souche. A veiled ruby reddish black with a nice beige head. Aroma is shy roasted malt and dark chocolate. Flavor is very roasty, chocolate. Finish is very dry, extremely sharp. Some lingering coffee flavor. Medium body, velvety mouthfeel. Strong carbonation, for a porter. Good, classic porter.

Initially, a lot of flavour from the complex malt and roastiness. WVRST tap takeover. Black colour, some lace. An edge, like a Baltic porter. Above average for a British porter. After it warms up to the room, it behaved more like a British porter.

on tap at la souche, qc. very dark brown pour, almost black with a decent beige head, little retention. burnt chocolate, minerals, ashes, lactose-like sugars, overdone molasses, earthy and burnt nuttiness. prickly carbonation - disturbing for sure, light body - nice texture and body, ashy mineralized finish. cheap porter. please don’t bottle this version..

(23 avril 2013)
