Translation: Saison du Tongka is a yellow-copper colored beer that is dry and refreshing. It has a spicy, candy-like aroma with a light phenolic touch typical of saison yeast. Taste is bold and generous, with a sharp acidity that leads to instantaneous thirst quenching.

On tap at St. Augustine’s, pours a hazy yellow with a small white head. Nose brings out Belgian yeast, some candied sugar, and a little bubblegum. Flavour is along the same lines, with a sharp phenolic character upfront, followed by Belgian yeast, light candy notes and spiciness on the finish. Not overly complex. Quite phenolic and boozy for being sub-5%. Off the mark.

Draft. Hazy golden yellow color, medium white head. Aroma of lightly spiced lemon. Taste has lightly funky citrus, raw bread dough, subtle white pepper. Decent.

Pours a nice golden with a thin white head that leaves heavy lacing. Nose offers fruits and spices and is generally saisonesque but you also get some isoamyl acetate (banana). Taste is pretty dry but not completely so, offers more fruity flavors along with some black pepper and a cereal finish. Body is medium and carbonation medium-high. Overall a more than fair saison.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Hazy deep blond color with compact head. Dry, moderately spicy, correctly bitter, balanced, a bit grassy, but overall without exceptional qualities.
Nice but ordinary beer.

Aroma is pleasant, modest fruity hops, light yeasty bite. Flavour is relatively mild but quite pleasant. Mild bitterness throughout, mild hops, mild fruit sweet orange, whisper of mango like tropical fruit. Very light grassy undertones. Very smooth bodied palate, soft carbonation is surprising considering the foamy pour

[5845-20130921] Tap. Mild doggy fur and fruity apple aroma. Hazy, light brown body with a quick foamy white head. Fruity apple plum continues in the flavour with a woody base. Medium body. Average. (6/3/6/3/13) 3.1

Had one on tap at the brewpub in Swawinigan. Extra light color, almost white, abundant head, singular fermune, I’d say lemon. Great beer and great place.

Almost an opaque light yellow/white with a thin white head. Rather light citric aromas with earthy and wheat notes. Medium carbonation. Surprisingly robust and bitter for such a light-appearing beer, with a decent briny aftertaste.

Couleur orangés completement opaque avec très peu de mousse blanche. Nez très fruités de peche et d’agrumes. En bouche peche, agrumes,épices sur une moyenne amertume. Une saison dans la moyenne...
