(600ml bottle from Depanneur Peluso) Proviso: didn’t realize this was hoppy, probably let it sit a bit too long. Pours a nicely hazed orange gold with a moderate frothy white head that fades to s small cap with lots of lace. On the nose I get a bit of tropical fruit, lots of bitter orange peel, light banana/clove, white pepper, grassy/herbal notes and a little bit of grain, pretty sweet overall. Palate much drier, citrus at first, mostly orange with a bit of honey malt sweetness. Bitter orange persists, spicy herbal yeast with just a bit of funk, leafy hops lend a fairly bitter character for a saison. Bone dry at the end, lemon zest, mineral, kind of flinty. Carb is quite high but very effervescent and soft, fills the mouth in a soft creamy way. This is lovely as is, a bitter hoppy saison that manages to keep most of the old world character too. So refreshingly dry, great mouthfeel. Need to try this fresh as a daisy too.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a slightly hazy medium golden color with a billowing three fingers of white foam. Nose is a balanced mix of peppery yeast, citrus, rustic grain and hints of fieldgrass, mint and touches of herbalness. Palate is bright and refreshing and follows the nose nicely. Lots of rustic grain, tons of yeast character, floral grass, some hints of tropical fruit and lingering bitterness o the finish.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from the LCBO. Hazy pale gold with a huge white head . Nose has lots of tropical fruit , citrus, yeast and spice with banana. Lightly sweet with bitter lemon and orange and a dominant spice background with a character varied enough that it doesn’t overwhelm and some moments of tartness in the midddle. Mouth is medium with active carbonation and a long dry finish.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
375 mL bottle, and one of the best saisons I’ve ever tried. Pours translucent yellow-orange with a big white head. Yeast, spice, bitter orange peel, cereal grain and pepper in the interesting and appealing nose. The flavour cycles through initial sweetish, citrus and honey to spicy yeast to a little funk to a more lemony, bitter citrus. Carbonation is right where you want it. Nice complexity, and this one certainly stands out from the pack.
