COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Hazy light tan/blonde. The aroma is light and spicy. The palate has light fruitiness and a hint of spice. A fairly refreshing saison, nicely done.

Draught at Churchkey. Amber/brown color, huge solid white head and a solid curtain of lacing. Aroma of white pepper and hay. Taste is an odd combination of sour and bitter with some gun metal, perhaps overhopped, or perhaps an infection. I’ll have to try this one again, either from the bottle, or closer to the source, to see if this was just a problem with this batch.

Hefig fruchtiger Antrunk, leichte Zitrusnoten. Fruchtiger werdend, wenig grasig. Helle Kräuternoten, zum Ende wird das Bier deutlich milder. Gut! 12/12/12/12/11/12

A hazed amber saison with a thin white head. A plesant fruity aroma with light Brett and coriander, fruity esters. In mouth, a nice crisp malt with light catnip, smoothh and fruity, with a bit of Brett. On tap at Mondiale 2010.

@Mondial de la Bière 2012, Montreal - hazy dark blond beer with a little foam left; yeasty and brett-like aroma; medium-bodied and gently sour; quite dry and long fruity acidic finish; notes of hay - fresh and enjoyable

Sampled on draft at Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a hazy golden color with a medium creamy head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of citrus, earthy notes and an almost nutty note. The taste is tart citrus, bready notes, hay, pear. Pretty much like sucking on a lemon. Medium bodied. Weird one.

UPDATED: SEP 6, 2010 My Bottom Line:
A veritable tropical fruit salad blooms from this Saison’s doughy yeast and pils malt cushion, a complex and rustic profile which is even more impressive when evolving in such an authentic, fluffy mouthfeel.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A compact layer of foam shields the misty blonde.
-The Simcoe provides wondrous citrus fruit notes throughout which are perfectly harmonious with the yeast and grain bill.
-This is the perfect combination of New World flair and Old World rusticity.
-The body is relatively light and airy; this is as drinkable as a Saison should be.
-I’m really looking forward to getting this in a bottle; these guys know how to bottle condition really well and this Saison might be even more stunning in that format.

On tap at the Mondial and at the Chambly festival.

2010-12-31. Lightly hazy golden orange body with a small foamy white head. 3+ First sips fairly bitter, subsequent sips are more rounded with a modest spice character, hints at lemongrass. Finishes a touch dry. 6+ Aroma is modest, similar notes of lemongrass like spice as in the flavour, mild spice, light pale malt character. 6+ Smooth average boded palate. Enjoyable. Tap at Volo, Toronto
