4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
In a bottle at Thristy & Miserable. A lovely saison that drinks lighter than its stated abv. Very refreshing and quaffable, which makes that abv all the more deadly. Very similar in aroma and flavour to a traditional Belgian saison, with perhaps a bit more grass in the nose and more citrus in the taste.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
This beer was wicked. Poured a hazy straw colour with a frothy head that quickly dissipated. Aroma was of honey, grapes, basement, floral, and coriander. Tasted herby, honey, and lemony. The body was light with very lively carbonation, so much that it was tingly on the tongue and a crisp bitter finish. Very satisfying beer that is perfect for Summer days.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle at Le Bremner in Montreal. Clear golden pour, with a huge white head. Big aroma of malted grains, quite a sharp bitter aroma of crisp grassy, slightly citric hops. The mouth feel ks very effervescent, with a very lively cabr. The finish is quite bitter, lots of floral, herbacious grassy/citric hops, and a great peppery touch. The malts balance quite well and add a tiny bit of grainy sweetness that is needed. Very crisp, and quenching, went amazing with my meal. A superb classic style saison.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a cloudy medium gold with a huge fluffy head, good retention, and minimal lacing. Nose is floral hops, citrus, yeast, and coriander, with a little barnyard funk. Taste is similar, with a peppery edge. Medium-bodied with prickly carbonation, mild warming, and a lingering bitter dry finish.
Very pleasant saison. Just enough funk to make it interesting, without making it challenging or aggressive. I like the little rye bite, as well. Lots of chunky yeast at the bottom of the bottle, but I don’t consider that a negative - you shouldn’t be able to see through your beer, anyway!

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Adstringência persistente no retrogosto. Muito boa.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Wvrst in Toronto, served in a snifter. Pours cloudy golden with a small white head that fades slowly and leaves a moderate amount of fine lace. The nose has Belgian spicy notes, clove, lemongrass, honey and delicate grassy hops. The flavour is lightly sweet with a moderate Belgian spiciness. Notes of clove, ginger and pepper come through as well, along with citrus, grapes, wheat and subtle fruity esters. The finish is medium in length and spicy. On the palate it is medium in body with a creamy texture and average carbonation. Overall a nice spicy saison. Great for a cool summer’s evening on the patio. 2014-06-26

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught at Rogue Kitchen & Wetbar (W. Broadway), Vancouver
Murky blond color with generous head. The aroma is nice, fresh and perfumy, flowery, some jasmine and coriander. It’s a bit too much carbonated; soft mouthfeel, rather dry; strong wheat flavor, spicy, with some dry and bitter orange peel. The bitterness is on the high end for this style.
Good, but also somehow rustic, dirty, not elegant.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
effervescent gold, puffy white head laces and lasts, large bubbled all over. Peppery chamomile nose, dry and dusty, lemon zest with gravel. Incredibly dry body immediately reminiscent of Dupont and Helios, tons of bitter grass and hay up front, controlled toasty grains across bitter mid, dusty cobweb dry finish, lightly gritty finish coats the tongue, bitterness lingers. Flavor is saison-heads’ dreams.

> Grassy, hoppy, dry, Saison Dupont style true saison
[ Bottle ][ 750ml ][ Marche des Saveurs Montreal ][ $5 ][ Unibroue Tulip ][ 6/7/14 ]
>> Pours cloudy, full haze glowing golden straw with larger, soapy, bright white foam. Excellent retention and spotty lacing. Nose is yeasty, not estery, no Belgian Tripel garbage esters, zesty lemon, white dough, green grass. Taste is bright, highly carbonated, dry with Saison Dupont type of faux crystalline sugar, grassy hop bite, no concrete or harshness. Clean and refreshing, true saison in its pale grist and green hop balance, no esters, no sugar, high carbonation. On point and very good. Worthy of Top 100 Saison.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
4 oz draft pour at The Partisan DC in a wine glass. Hazy yellow with off-white head. Aromas of funk, citrus, tropical fruit, stone fruit. Tastes of big barnyard funk, citrus, floral and grassy notes. Medium body with a dry finish. Medium-low carbonation. A touch too much barnyard funk for my preference but a solid saison.
