4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Bean (57) - Quebec, CANADA - MAR 14, 2012
Saison 101. This brew has it all.
Weizen-like banana and spices. Nice hops, yeast and fruity after-taste. Might be the best saison in the world

UPDATED: SEP 6, 2010 My Bottom Line:
A veritable tropical fruit salad blooms from this Saison’s doughy yeast and pils malt cushion, a complex and rustic profile which is even more impressive when evolving in such an authentic, fluffy mouthfeel.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A compact layer of foam shields the misty blonde.
-The Simcoe provides wondrous citrus fruit notes throughout which are perfectly harmonious with the yeast and grain bill.
-This is the perfect combination of New World flair and Old World rusticity.
-The body is relatively light and airy; this is as drinkable as a Saison should be.
-I’m really looking forward to getting this in a bottle; these guys know how to bottle condition really well and this Saison might be even more stunning in that format.
On tap at the Mondial and at the Chambly festival.

(Rating #3054)

Several 5 oz pours at brewers fest in Shawinigan. Light gold pour with fluffy white head. Aroma is a beautiful mix of stonefruits, honey, some herbs - coriander and spicy yeast. Taste is just sweet enough with a dry, refreshing finish just like a saison should be. Palate is lively with carbonation and quite enjoyable. The best beer of the night.

On tap at Vermont Brewfest 2010. Pours a hazy orange with a nicely sized white head. Aroma is delicate and enticing, with good notes of yeast, spice, and nectarine. Flavor is fantastic-- apricot and peach come through profoundly, with dough and coriander providing an excellent backdrop. Palate holds high effervescence that suits the beer beautifully, and finishes crisp and clean. Very good saison.

Tap at Mondial. This and Zeeland were the 2 best saisons of the fest by far. Pours a nice light golden hazed with a fluffy lasting white head and nice coating of lace. Aroma is spicy orange zest, with apricot, mango, peppery spicy phenolics and grass- mostly doughy clean bready malts and very low sweetness- good belgian/french saison yeastiness. Flavor is more pineapple and grapefruit from the hops and yeast, apricot, orange juice, nelson sauvin, gets to be white wine like, some mineral and grass in the end and nicely dry on the end with good tacky bitterness in the end. Nice Hopped up saison.
